It was a historic day, as the world watched a new era in space travel, with the advent of reusable rockets, enhanced safety features, and brand new technology. The event was reminiscent of the early days of sending astronauts to the moon and into orbit.
In today’s class, we’ll create a watercolor matchbook journal with paintings to reflect on this exciting time. Space travel is full-on unknowns and most of all, hope. A journal is a great way to reflect on these feelings.

Then, using the techniques from class, fold your paper, make your sketches, and add your pigments to create your own journal.
