There are actually 20 different qualities that are talked about in ru VEDA which are 10 pairs of opposites. We are only going to talk about a few of them here, the ones that are most useful for practical purposes. Here we will observe how they relate to each element. The first pair that we're going to discuss is hot and cold. The main principle that I would like you to take away from this pair is everything is inherently cold unless the fire element is present. Whenever there is heat, the fire element is present.

Therefore, air space water and earth hold the quality of cold and again fire holds the quality of hot. The second pair we'll discuss is dry and moist. And just as with hot and cold, the same principle stands everything is inherently dry except for water. Some examples here are Earth. Earth is dry unless you add water which then creates mud fire. During the summer months, you might hang your wet laundry outside in the sun to dry out air.

Imagine being on the peak of a mountain and it's very windy. What does your skin feel like afterward? probably pretty dry. Now the third pair is mobile and stable. The air element is mobile as air is the force of mobility. The fire in space elements are neither mobile nor stable.

We call them unstable. They're unstable because they don't move on their own but it takes essentially zero force to move them. And now fire can't even exist without air. Earth we actually defined by solidity and stability. So Earth is by definition stable. The water element is also stable.

What about a river us it River is mobile but it's not moving. Due to the water itself. It takes something else to move the water, which is air. And the last pair that we're going to discuss is heavy and light. So thinking about the top buzz the qualities we just discussed, which are mobile and stable. This can help us easily fill in the answers for heavy and light.

So spaces light, areas light. Fire is light. Water is heavy and Earth is heavy.
