Okay, now the way we do this is we hold the blade and we cut away from us and we just wear away the wood exposing the lead. You've got to be patient with this and I would just go ahead and wear away one side down to the lead. That way I have wood supporting the other side so it doesn't snap off. And you just continue to do that until all the word is gone and you have exposed lead something like that.
