Now we're going to learn how to do video editing in Photoshop. And yes, you heard me right, we're going to be editing videos in Photoshop. While basically Photoshop is not mainly for video editing however, we can be doing simple editing in Photoshop, maybe for editing a small and simple video over if you're looking for a professional application for video editing, you can be going for Adobe Premiere, which is mainly created for editing videos. And also if you'd like to add effects to your videos, you can be using Adobe After Effects. However, let's say don't have time to learn these applications from scratch, or you're not going to be editing videos that much you can be doing that in Photoshop. So let's start editing our videos.

And let me show you guys what we're going to be creating through the video. Here is an old video of me when I was learning how to fly was my amazing flight instructor by them. I made that video editing in Photoshop. So let's play that one. transition between videos transition with animated text. So let's see how we can be creating that.

So back to Photoshop, creating that one from scratch gonna be creating a new file or new. Then let's select maybe with presets, as we already have a low resolution video and we're going to be selecting with medium and that's why I selected a small video so it's not going to be sluggish while you're editing that one on your PC as you can find that file In your resources, so you can be practicing video editing along with me. So clicking Create. Maybe I'm going to be closing all through that one. And let's save. Now let's go to File, Place linked.

And let's select the video file place. It's even smaller than medium websites. However, we're going to be enlarging that one a bit pressing off the Option key, transforming or really file all the way to here, maybe hitting return. Maybe you can be distorting that one a bit pressing Shift just a little bit to include some or footage. It's not going to be affecting or videos of much hitting return. Now placing our second video file, go into file, please link selecting that file.

Transforming that one as well. alter option key Don't shift, maybe pressing Shift just a little bit too much the first video and hitting return. Now make sure that you are on motion workspace by going to Window workspace select motion, and we have timeline panel. We're going to be selecting create Video Timeline and clicking on Create Video Timeline. We have our port as video track can be expanding that one we can see our two videos in here. Each of them on a track what is on top will be visible to us.

So we have our second video visible can be hiding that want to see the first track or first video and we have that playhead to scrub through video. However, let's start by hiding that second check for a second So it can be trimming or first video. All I need from that first video is just to scenes, and cluding me for smoking. So I'm going to be scrubbing all the way to here. Nearly all the way to here starting with my face. And let's start dragging the video clip all the way to here so it's going to be starting from that point, then we can be moving that track to the beginning of our video and also scrubbing through that video.

Maybe after camera was pointing down, then I'm going to be cutting that clip all the way to here. And now we can be moving that clip all the way to the same channel. And can be zooming in a bit clicking in here to see our tracks better and can be enabling that one. So now it's going to be going all the way like that zero Moving to here. Now we need to be adding a transition between those two values. Of course, we can leave it as this as harsh Scott.

However, if you'd like to add transitions between your videos, you can be clicking that button here, where you can be adding fades, or crossfade. Fade with black, white or color. And you can be controlling duration for your transition, either one second, you can be reducing that or increasing time, or let's grab faders whites. And we're going to be placing that one between those two clips, or even you can add that one to the very end of that track or beginning of that one. However, let's keep it in between. So it's going to look like that.

So we have this white or fade with white transition. And also anywhere in your clip. You can be cutting your clip into pieces, maybe to remove parts if you'd like by using that sizzle. So now We created a pot within our label can be scrubbing a bit, and maybe removing the port by clicking the scissor again. So it can be leading the port by selecting only that area and hitting delete. And now we made a cut through our video you can be seeing how it's gonna look like we have a very harsh cold.

However, we don't need that one. So I'm going to be pressing Command Z, or control Z to undo that. Now let's also shorten our tracks. I'm going to be scrubbing quickly in here we're going down and just try to touch down I'm going to be ending that video so hello interrupt Hello just after communication scrolling in here, maybe we need to be zooming out a bit. So we can see our timeline better. I'm going to be dragging our video all the way to here to the playhead.

And here we can see that we have 29 seconds video duration with 30 frames per second. And now what's really cool is that we can be using all Photoshop tools through our video editing. So for instance, we can be adding adjustment layer with contrast. And let's maybe scrub to here so we have a clear frame, increasing contrast bits and using progress, because I feel it's quite bright outside. And also we can be applying maybe color lookup table or lots. But before we add any more layers, we can be saving or file first, because sometimes it might be quite stressful for Photoshop 200 video So going to File, Save, and let's call it final approach.

Save. Okay, now let's add an adjustment layer maybe Color Lookup can be selecting maybe one go maybe for moonlight if you'd like to turn that scene into a night scene, and also can be adding animations to any of our layers including our adjustment layers, so can be expanding that video group. As you can see, we can be adding animation to each and everything was in the video group, which is including all those layers in here. However, now let's say we need to add animation to only color look of adjustment layer. So we need to be dragging that layer outside of our video group layers. So dragging that one outside and instantly guys we have a new video track or timeline including only color local be expanding that one, we can be creating animation including position, opacity, style layer must position and also layer must enable.

So now let's say we need to be adding opacity transition. So let me first extend that layer all the way to the very beginning of our timeline, or the start of our video and placing our playhead to start point as well. Now we need to make sure that we are selecting our layer. Then we need to be adding animation keyframe maybe for opacity by clicking that watch in here, or stopwatch, and it's going to be adding a keyframe in here or real diamonds as a starting point for our animation. So can start by bringing opacity to zero for the player, and moving all the way, maybe to here and let's bring bestie once again to full on By increasing opacity Photoshop is adding another diamond for us. I don't can see that one in here we can be zooming in a bit so you can see better guys know by scrubbing through our timeline, you can see that we have a transition through the two lights can be playing that.

So it's sort of like creating a time lapse illusion through our venue from day to night. And now let's zoom out. And let's maybe add an end screen to our video, placing our playhead at the end of our video, and if you'd like to snap your playhead you can be pressing Shift, and it's going to be snapping to any point maybe lose diamonds, or any of our V. Now it can be creating a new layer and filling that one was black pressing Command or Ctrl backspace and let's also create a new layer for type and It's time maybe the end selecting or type aligned to center rising. And we can be adding also some animation to our type by expanding our types layer. And we can add transform and opacity by adding two keyframes or clicking on the icon and sliding or playhead bits, maybe all the way to here then we can be adding two keyframes at these areas.

Now we don't have any animation through our type, since within make a changes to our text, as we scroll to the very beginning of our keyframes, they are the same. So we need to make sure that we are on the first two keyframes and you can make sure that you are exactly on those two keyframes by pressing shift. Then we can be moving on tight all the way maybe to here. So sweet To be animating from here to that point, if we play our video, what are we playing like that? It is it's quite slow can be increasing speed by selecting or keyframes or two keyframes. And let's zoom in a bit and can be sliding them all the way, maybe two.

So we have a shorter time for the same distance. So let's play that. I think this low as well we can be using time again. Yeah, that looks better. We can be also working on the pasty boy sliding or playhead pressing shift. Now we can be bringing opacity all the way to zero ambling that.

Now let's see when it will be fading time also at the end. We can be sliding or playing all the way to here. And we need to be adding two keyframes Again. However in that case, we're going to leave them as they all are going to be sliding or re hit just a little bit and adding two keyframes again, bring opacity to zero. And basically guys, we are adding those two keyframes in here to maintain those two frames as they are, as if we start playing or videos are going to be looking like that and it's going to be steady, then it's going to be fading away. However, if we remove that keyframe, especially opacity, it's going to be fading all the way from here till it reaches that point.

So let's play it again and you will see what I mean by that. Now it's fading slowly all the way to here. That's where you need to be adding another keyframe to maintain your initial movement or your initial keyframes. So let me undo removing that key frame. And by the way, guys, the same concept also applies in animation. premiere.

So if you practice the same concept in here, it's gonna be very easy for you guys to master that one also in Adobe Premiere. Now zooming out through our timeline. We can be playing with you at the end. You can be adding a transition also in here if you like boy zooming in again, and maybe extending back there just a bit expanding or layer, sliding to beginning for layer, adding opacity, then going all the way to here, pressing Shift, adding another keyframe. Let's move to our first keyframe, reducing opacity to zero. So it's going to be blending in was our view Now here's one more hint for you guys.

If you feel it stressing your VC, you can be reducing resolution by clicking that one, and selecting 25%. And instead of 100%, as it's gonna be faster in playbacks and edits, and of course, you can be selecting low playback, if you like from here. Now, let's also add music background or video. So I'm going to be zooming out. And let's close these layers. Scrolling down with the group as well.

So here we have audio track where we can be adding another audio track if you'd like a new audio track. So we have two audio tracks. So you can be adding maybe a narration on your video on that audio check. And also maybe sound effects or music track if you'd like. However, in that case, we don't really need that audio channel. So I'm going to be removing that one the track and let's maybe add all your backgrounds by adding or you selecting that One open and this chat by the way from YouTube's library, and as you can see guys this track is pausing or video so we need to be trimming that one woman outs and trimming our audio clip to the end of our video and we can be testing that one out.

Maybe that's quite too loud who can be right clicking or audio clip or it can be cranking volume down by sliding that slider maybe all the way to 60% and also can be adding fade out to our volume, maybe a plus two or three seconds. So can be throwing that one out. placing our players in here. So looks cool, right? We can be altered Adding a bit of fluff to our video so let's place our playhead to here, maybe looking for some noise maybe something like that and now can be selecting or video can be going to filter floor smart floor pressing okay. Also there's one more tip for revise we can be adding two black pores to our video for adding a cinematic effect.

So going to be creating a new layer on top of our layers, maybe here, new layer and selecting our selection tool. Doing a selection all the way to here maybe and filling that one was black one of Ctrl backspace and switching to move to duplicating that one pressing ALT option key and pressing Command or Control D to D select No need to be extending or layer source Pulling up here we have our layer can be extending that one all the way to end of our key and beginning as well to see how it looks like you might be getting great frames at beginning in here. But again, it's not going to be here because like computers trying to render your your frames so now whenever you saw a new blade again it's not going to be very sluggish. So now we need to be rendering our view and we can do so by clicking that button in here.

And we have render settings for our video we have name and folder. And what's really important is format we need to be selecting h 264. Which is going to be creating mp4 video files. And you can be selecting from quality presets. Instead of high quality can be going to maybe YouTube thing a TV if you would like to go for that one film to use that one on YouTube, but make sure that you're using the same dimensions. So here we have 1440 by 900, which is not going to be matching was 1920 by 1080.

So we're gonna keep it as this and hitting render. Now depending on how strong your PC and how many layers you've been using and effects within your video file, the time of your video rendering will be affected. So hopefully by now guys, you know how to edit your videos in Photoshop.
