Once you open Photoshop, you can create a new file by clicking upon create new, or you can do the same by going to File. Then you can select new, or you can open an existing file on your pc or image by selecting open or you can be clicking the button in here. Or even you can access your recently opened files in Photoshop, which you can find in recent area and you can sort them as well by clicking the drop down. However, since we are starting from scratch, guys, let's create a new file, create new and from here you can select from different presets to start with. So here we have tabs for photo print, art and illustration, web mobile, film and video. So let's say for instance, we're going to print our file can select Print, where you will find blank presets to start with You can download from Adobe's templates as well, and they are for free.

So here we have some of their templates for print, like brochures, book covers, and even so much more to cover or you can find even more templates on Adobe Stock by searching in here. However, for now, let's start with the blank documents scrolling up. Here, you can view all presets by clicking the plus. And let's maybe select a4 paper size by clicking that one a4. And here you can type your files name, print zine, for instance. Or even you can name your files later when you're saving them.

Then we have with some height for our file. If you would like to use different units, you can select from here. So let's maybe select centimeters. And also if you'd like to add margin or bleed area to your file, you can do simple mathematics in these areas. So let's maybe add points. six centimeters to our file.

So I'm going to be clicking in here, plus point six, then selecting height, and adding also the same value, you can add or subtract, or multiply or divide in here as well. I find that really cool, especially if you're not that amazing with mathematics. Also, you can change your documents orientation, either portrait or landscape from here. So we're going to go with landscape. And we're not going to add our ports to our files, so this one will not be selected, as they might be only important in mobile and app designs. Then here, we have our files resolution, and that one is set to 300 PPI or pixel per inch, and actually resolution on color mode are going to be explained in detail through that course.

However, what you might really need to know for now is that we use 300 for print files wide for screens and Web Designs. We'll see To be bi for resolution then we have color mode. And since we are going to print that file we need to select see my key color mode is still RGB color mode which is used for web and screen sites. Then we can change our canvas background color from here itself Why two can select black or a different background color. However, let's keep it as test for now. Then here we have some advanced options where you can change your current profile however for now let's create our file.

Pressing creates. Congratulations guys, we have just created that file. Now moving on and getting more familiar with Adobe's Photoshop user interface.
