What's up guys now we're going to be starting a full complete retouching project we're going to be using and applying most of our retouching tools and techniques. And it's also going to be your exercise so you can be opening your files and start following along with me. In your Resources folder you will be finding retouching folder. And for that exercise, you need to be selecting that image and it's a regular JPG format. And also we'll need that guy's image in here. And it's our old file format for Nikon cameras.

As you can see an E FF while canons row format file will be broadly CR two or CR W. And there is also Adobe's row format file which is dmg and Adobe Photoshop Ambridge, you can be opening all these formats. And what's unique about these row format files, that they include great amount of details when they are complete. To JPEG files, however they are also larger in file size. So now let's edit that one in Adobe Photoshop right clicking our image open with wouldn't be selecting Adobe Photoshop. Now we are getting camera opened for us within Adobe Photoshop and it's exactly like terminal row filter. However, these row format files are actually called row files because they are not yet processed and we need to be processing them within camera first, then we can be retouching our image and instantly guys, you can see that this one is already underexposed image as we have too many dark areas within our image and not too many details.

And we have some details for our image. So we have low ISO and we have lens type, shutter speed and also aperture settings. And you can see camera type as well in here, Nikon D 80. And we can see clearly that we have missing data for Lights and also highlights and we don't have this exposure as well. So can be dragging that one all the way to here to have higher highlights and you can be dragging also exposure as well. And you can see that we are getting different values for exposure slider.

As it's increasing as well on the slider, maybe all the way to here. I will can be reducing shadows as well by dragging them toward light. Now we are getting more details within these dark areas within our image. We can be also reducing blacks either from here or from the sliders maybe a little bit of whites as well. And maybe as well increasing exposure. Also there are some tools in here.

So for instance, you can be selecting white color parents tool. word can be selecting white area, maybe like that spot In our image, and by selecting different points, you can get different results. And you can be checking your original image by pressing P. Or you can be comparing both of them by clicking the photo near. Or you can be cycling between before and after different reviews by pressing Q, something like that. Let's maybe keep it that way. And let's also add a bit of contrast.

You can try to play or source clarity or the haze for higher contrast within your image. This looks nice, let's rescue and these are only basic settings we have even more details. So we have to enter who can be customizing lights was an image or even highlights you'd like to use. them a bit, maybe you have some of them in here. And you can be reducing dogs, you'd like to reduce dark areas or increase them within your image. So let's maybe reduce highlights a bit and maybe increase lights.

And you can check before and after. Then we have details that where we can be increasing shortening for our image or reducing noise. So let's even zoom in clicking the button here. For more details. Maybe we need to add a little bit of sharpening and we have some greens so maybe noise reduction can be helping a bit with that. Then we have HSL adjustments for more color control overall image zooming out with so it can be increasing or reducing So maybe a little bit of friends can be enhancing our image, giving us even more healthier look.

And even can be controlling saturation, or luminance from these steps in here. The more settings for colors and lens correction, then we have effects which is really cool can be adding grain to our image, maybe if you're going for that effect within your image, so it's going to be grainy like that. And you can go all the way to extreme results, or maybe just a little bit if you'd like to add some grains within your image. However, this one is already including grades so I'm gonna keep it at zero. Then you can be adding a vignette to your image by sliding that one, all the way towards black, for about vignettes like that. Of course that's too extreme.

Maybe acetyl one like that if you would like to add vignette to image or if you like that effect, or you can add white vignette to your image as well. If you go for a boost of value, we'll be getting a white vignette. So let's maybe go for a black vignette. And you will have more controls for controlling midpoint of your vignette or shape of your vignette. Or if you would like to feather that one, or get a chirp. However, maybe at that point, I'm not going to be a blind vignette.

So let's set that one to zero. Then we have calibration settings. If you would like to add depth to your image, although it was a direction for shadows, or even greens, if you feel colors are not calibrated, you can be customizing them as well from here. So you can be selecting red bright Murray or green or blue. So let me set that one to zero. And you can be controlling grid values all the way down.

Here then we have presets, which are also amazing you have colored presets in here you can be hovering over any of them to see how it's gonna look like if you apply that one. And what's even cooler are those creative presets in here so you can be hovering over the saturated contrast and looks instantly amazing or cool light. They are also quite similar to applying Instagram filter. You have presets for black and white or curve feud like to check them out and greens and sharpening as well. So instead of customizing those sliders in the manual ways, they are also giving us amazing presets to start from, especially if you feel it's quite off Delicate to mess with all these sliders. So you can go quickly and grab any of these presets and apply it instantly on your image.

And same as well for vignetting. We have presets for them. Now we can be chicken our image before and after clicking the button or pressing P. Now let's say we are having that result and we need to start retouching our image, we'll need to be selecting open image. And as we hover over the pattern, we have even more options. So if we click right away, it will open as a normal image. If we press Option or Alt and click, we'll be opening without updating metadata.

And if we press SHIFT and click it will be opening our image as a Smart Object. And if we click Save Image, we will be converting and saving our image in different formats if we would like and if we click done, we will be saving that without opening that image. So now opening our image as a Smart Object pressing shifts, then clicking open object. Now we have finished editing our image, which is including maybe exposure contrast and all these settings. And you can do the same as well for JPEG files by applying maybe adjustment layers, or applying camera raw filter on your image by going to filter and selecting Camera Raw Filter. If you are working on a big file or any other format, it doesn't have to be URL format as you know.

And now moving to step two retouching or image. However, before we start retouching that image, you need to be saving a copy from that one. So we have our editing stage saved. So go to File, Save As. So let's save that one as BSD as this. Then later we can be exporting or saving as debate when we reach our final retouching image.

So now I'm going to be pressing save, then pressing OK So guys now get ready for the fun part retouching parts.
