In the previous video, we saw how we can perform quick calculations using auto functions, auto sum, maximum, average and count. But is there a way to get this without creating that entire range of functions? And the answer is simply to make a selection of all of the numbers. So I'm starting over here in so e6, pressing Ctrl, Shift and down, selecting all of these numbers. Now you'll notice on my screen, that in the status bar, we get all of this really valuable mathematical information. We can see the sum, max min, the numerical count, the count, and the average.
If you don't see all of this information, simply right click anywhere on your status bar. And you can turn them on or off in this area over here. Now the difference between numerical count and count is that the numerical count will only count numbers whereas The Count will also include text. So a good example of this is highlighting information that contains text. As you can see, it provides us with the count. If we add some numbers, we then see the difference between numerical count and the count.
But as you can see, if you just need to get some quick insights into your data, we can get these six pieces of information instantaneously. So hopefully, this process of simply selecting your information and glancing down at your status bar will help you to get quick calculations without creating a bunch of functions. We'll see in the next video.
