In this video, we're going to look at how to tailor some Excel settings for improved productivity. To access the Excel options, you could move to file and down to options. Although I'm sure you've already seen that we've done this before using the keystroke of Alt F t. You'll notice that the Excel Options dialog box appears and has several tabs on the left hand side. And the different options that we can sit are unfortunately, thrown quite haphazardly across all of these different tabs. The worst example of this being the Advanced tab, which is just a collection of many different settings, without a logical flow between them. We're going to briefly talk through each tab, letting you know the changes that you might want to make within each under the General tab.
Some changes that I like to make mostly relate to To the look and feel of every new workbook that we create, we can set the default font and size, as well as how many sheets to include. It's worthwhile personalizing your name. For example, putting your username so that when you create comments, they come up with your name. As you've seen before, you can change the office background and theme, purely aesthetic changes, all of the other options are tend to be void. And the formulas, the most important options relate to the error checking rules, which we explore in detail in a future video, and some of the Calculation Options. While they can be set over here, it's easier to find them on the formula tab, and the proofing.
We've got autocorrect options, which we'll learn in a future video. And the save you can set the auto recover information and I suggest a low increment like two minutes. language isn't uncommon to use Ted unless you're using additional language The advance tab has a collection of all of these seemingly random options, which we will encounter as we move through the series. And in addition to these tabs, we've got options to customize the ribbon, the queue at a tab for controlling add ins, as well as the Trust Center, all of which we'll cover in the next few videos. So now you know the quick way to access Excel options using alt fit, as well as where to find some of the different options that will be changing in the future. We'll see in the next video.
