Welcome back everyone. Now we get into g LBP, the true low balancing protocol. Again, this was Cisco only created 2005. Haha competing with VRP. Just like issues repeated allows active to active routers or just like h SRP, but this one instead of active standby allows active active connections which adds load balancing, load balancing, it actually has a load balancing command. All right.
So this is why this is the protocol you really would want even though I can tell you and telecommunication issues RP issues as a single virtual IP with multiple that's awesome multiple virtual MAC addresses, okay. You have an active Virtual Gateway that manages all those MAC addresses. Okay, the other routers act as if they were active and really active virtual forwarders. So they everybody, there's one guy, the main guy, everybody else, he's all it says active, they're actually forwarders of all the information. All right, more than one router can be active, you have a single vebber. He said that when multiple virtual Max, again, the configuration here once again there is no standby, it's GL BP, right?
You put a priority number you got the IP address, I mean, you got the group number, you got the IP address, which is virtual or ghost IP that all your clients need to have. Then you have the priority, the bigger the better. Right That makes it the active router, the main guy, but here is a huge difference. Load Balancing says you have up to eight routers, okay? These Okay, how are we going to load balance? The preferred method is round robin They just want to take go around and around and around and see if this one's burn.
Let me go to the next one that was burning go the next one, I was going to go to the next one. You can do it that way. The next preferred is host dependent, which is based on MAC addresses and weight it. That's something that I'll leave that up to you. But these are the ways that you can low bounce, but again, the preferred method is round robin because they want routers burn, then it can go to the old one and it can go to the old one. They can go to the old ones.
Yeah, three redundancy protocols, two of which, okay, well, sure what's GBP and HRP are Cisco proprietary VRP is not okay. So but again, the one of the biggest benefits of GL BP is that it is a true load balancing protocol. And if you do need that load balancing, this is the way to go. Alright, see you the next one.
