Solo for Freddy King said night out was played mostly over the first position, g blues box or in the first position g blues box, but he does move to the second position blues box and beyond in the song. It's a one verse solo. So let's break it down one phrase at a time. After the first verse, he starts out with this lick. And this is really pretty cool. I'm having a hard time when I listen to it hearing exactly what he does right at the beginning, I hear a ban on the third string, fifth fret, and I'm just using my ring finger.

And then I hear him picking the third fret of the second string twice. Something like that real fast that he's gonna go to the sixth fret of the second string and then And then we're gonna play around between the fifth and third fret of the third and fourth strings. So it's bending up on the fifth fret of the third string. Bringing it back down, three, five on the third string. Then the third fret A lot of times in the song and other songs. So, do one fingered bad word bands up on that third fret of the third string with one finger and just kind of let it hang.

So the whole phrase, it goes to the fifth fret of the fourth string. And then back to that. So let me play that whole phrase one more time slowly. There's the first phrase of the solo. The second phrase Freddy King solo and said, Night Owl, Going to go to a long ban on the second string. What I'm doing here is that got my first finger on the first fret, third fret of the second string, and then I'm just putting all my fingers down and basically bendy in the sixth fret of the second string, but I'm gonna bend that up and hold it.

You'll hear if you've listened to the original one, he holds that so it's like he's gonna bring it down and pick it. So the whole verse goes, the whole phrase goes like this. That's the sixth fret of the third string, third fret of the second string. Go back and forth between the third third fret to the third string on the third fret of the third string so let's do it all the way through so far. He's gonna push up on that. So the whole phrase played slowly here.

That is the next phrase of the solo notice kind of hang and let the guitar do the talk and you don't have to play a million miles an hour. That's the one thing on Freddy kings songs. It's just how beautifully he lets them know Tang and holds the bands and makes it really sing out. Then let's pick up the solo. For the next phrase we've got, right, there's where we left off from the previous first so that he's gonna do this. This is a typical Freddie King riff and the first position blues back.

So I finished the last verse holding, I'm going to go to the fifth fret of the third string, fifth fret of the fourth string, back to that note, third fret of the third string with a little bass. So it's like this. Never gonna do a pull off from the fifth to the third on the fourth string, and wind up on the fifth fret of the fifth string. So the whole thing then, the phrase ends with a little one fingered bed on the third fret of the fourth string. Like that, and then in the second part of the solo for sad night, He's gonna go with the next phrase from the first blue Xbox to the second, play something like this. What I'm doing is going from the first position blue Xbox to the second.

And in the second position blue Xbox, mainly, he's going to play these notes sixth and eighth fret of the first rank sixth and eighth fret of the second string, and I'm starting it out with the third fret of the second string. And then I'm sliding into the eighth fret of the second string from the third fret, something like that, and then to the sixth fret of the first string and then three bands on the eighth fret 123 he's gonna let it down to the eighth fret to the sixth fret of The first string is on the eighth fret of the second string. And then one of those one finger bands on the sixth fret of the first string. So let's play that whole phrase again. And that's the next thing he plays in said night out. Then he's going to do this phrase.

What I hear is from the previous lecture, he's got that one finger band on the sixth fret, he's gonna quickly pick the eighth fret of the first string. And then do another one of these bands where he's not picking up releasing, and then getting the sixth fret of the first string and settling into the eighth fret of the second string. So let's take it all the way through so far. That's what I hear approximately, then an X ray. So start on the eighth fret of the second string and play this. So what I'm doing here, eighth fret of the second string, bending, bringing it down to the eighth fret of the first string, sixth fret of the first string, bending up on the eighth fret of the first string and kind of hold it like we've done before, so let's do that whole phrase.

Then he wraps it up. And then the next phrase, he's just gonna bend up bend up on the eighth fret of the first string after this, bringing it down without picking again fret of the first string, the eighth fret of the second string. So that whole leg
