Learn a unique life skill that no college, university or workplace will teach you.

Handle life's ups and downs without fear or worrying become financially and psychologically superior than the crowd. He who knows how to be poor, no civility and fantastic code by Jules Michelle at a little bit about me. I have already given my introduction in the previous section, so I think we can skip this. I also have a small homemade website called Asian red.com where I list all my books and magazines. Please have a look at it when you can First some tanks. Let us say hello to your new friend and begin. I presume you had such a toy when you were young. In case you still have it somewhere in your house, please get him out. Lecture one who is the audience for this course. The audience for this core consists of celebrate For a family. salaried employees in high pressure environments are risky jobs.

Those who work in unstable industries that frequently downsize or outsource those who feel their lifestyle is going out of control. Those who have dependents to maintain and are worried about their future. Those who are above 40 years with periodic health problems and increasing medical expenses. Those who spend money to match the rich neighbors, co workers, friends and relatives, those who are grappling with their finances debt, just wondering where their money disappears every month. Those who want to have better control over their income and expenditure. Let us start the lecture.

With the shocking news, this is actually a true story. One Mr. K was a rich and popular businessman with several properties in the city. He also wanted a big mansion in one of the most expensive areas in the city. The picture given in this slide is for representative purposes only and not his real hope. But he was recently arrested for killing his wife then trying to kill his three children and then commit suicide. Why did he do that?

Policy investigation revealed that he had incurred a huge loss and was indeed that he had taken massive loans from multiple banks and several money lenders who are hounding him for repayment. He wanted to clear his loans by selling his posh house and other properties could could not do so why couldn't he sell? The main reason was his wife prevented him from selling the properties and this led to bitter fights frequently. Soon the arguments escalated and the situation went out of hand as he was under enormous pressure and threats to repay the loans. Then what happened? Due to his wife's stubborn refusal to sell the property, he went berserk and short term debt.

Later he attempted to kill his children and then commit suicide, but could not do so. Now let us understand why did this wife refuse Her reason was, she did not want to reduce our standard of living and move to a small house. Now, is this some routine news or a lesson for all of us? First, get this new shock you definitely would have shocked any normal person. Now when you read such news, what do you most people normally do? Do you just say it is terrible and more?

Or do you actually sit and discuss how you will handle your affairs if you get hit by the business man's plight. Most people will say his case was different. I am not in that situation. Or that business man and his wife should have taken precautions before the situation went out of hand. Or they will say, hey, they should have saved money. Why did you take so many loans?

How can he kill his one family and so on? Now, I'll ask them tough questions. But suppose you do meet a similar fate as a businessman and suddenly lose your job or income tomorrow? Will you still be able to afford the monthly expenses and repay any loans or commitments that you currently have? Suppose you don't get another job for several months, or get a job in another city that you can't go, then what will you do? Some more tough questions.

What if you died tomorrow or made some terrible action can become bedridden? Who can guarantee that you will not die or meet with any action tomorrow? What do you forget some terminal illness and die one year from now. Now some ultimate questions. Will your family still continue their current lifestyle and all the luxuries and amenities that you're currently enjoying? Will your family instantly downgrade their life once your income disappears?

Will they agree to downshift their lives? Do they know how to downshift? Have you asked them anytime? pause for a minute and think or play a small short game. Go home and ask your spouse and kids if they can give up their smartphones, iPads cable TV, internet, car, gadgets and other nice things. get accustomed to then experience the fireworks at your home.

Now let us look at some confidence or ignorance that most people have. Many executives worldwide think that such financial problems abrupt bankruptcy, suicide, serious health issues, difficulties etc happened somewhere to someone but not to them. So when they are earning wealth, they happily lead a lavish lifestyle and gradually increase their standard of living. Or they think they are highly qualified, so they will always get a job or their skill will always be in demand. Secondly, they assume that their credentials knowledge and friends will keep them in blowed forever or help them get new jobs. Or they may even think that their past good deeds and positive thoughts will save God.

Are the testaments a retirement is far away? Why worry about too distant future now? I'm strong and capable of maintaining my expenses. Now let us come to the harsh reality. Reality is that which when you stop believing in it doesn't go away. Nature is nasty, merciless and it does not spare anyone.

In fact, good people suffer more than bad people. What if one door closes and another does not open today's unpredictable economy can make even the most most qualified employee unemployed. Next, regardless of how confident or capable one is, health issues, family and children issues age, travel, office, politics, traffic, customer has, etc. can gradually break the spirit over time and turn his or her confidence into fear. Now, you may be no different and could be living in a fool's paradise without thinking about what will happen to you and your family if a disaster strikes you. So what can you do?

The only answer to control your fears is to begin some graduate to drastic changes in your lifestyle and become a minimalist and move from chaos to simplicity. before it is too late. This is a pictorial representation of your chaotic life and you will have to move from this life to this life, and this course will teach you how to achieve this. Now, you may say, What can one do in this ruthless doggy dog world? It's impossible. For this what I say is many things often seem unachievable until you give it a try.

Now, you may ask, what is the minimalist? What is minimalism? extreme simplicity, less is more, someone having real freedom, less clutter, desire to live with less understanding when enough is enough and attached to materialistic possessions. Fewer obligations and responsibilities. A method in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect. Look at this picture, it has the fewest items and all of them are very simple, but the effect of this is maximum.

Now why become a minimalist? Once you become a minimalist you can control and take charge of your life regardless of what others around you think or do. You can control unnecessary costs and simplify your life. You can resist urges to spend unnecessarily escape from the pressures of consumerism and obsession for useless material things. Next, you can lower your Stress obligations, debt and improve health. You will experience less cleaning, maintaining and repairing the house.

You can survive lengthy periods of unemployment and tackle retirement fears. You can also control jealousy, envy, hate and inferiority complex regardless of the millionaires and billionaires around you. Finally, you can become financially and psychologically superior than the crowd. So what do you say? Now I can guess what you may say. Sounds interesting, but I don't want to become a monk or a saint and go to your forest.

As Robert Frost said, I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. Now what I say, Well, this is where you are mistaken. Most people think minimalism is just another fad, like becoming a saint and refer to a forest. And some people think it is plains stinginess and live like a destitute. But they are all mistaken. You don't have to embrace sainthood or stinginess to become a minimalist.

Minimalism is not leading a life of poverty when you are able to afford things. It is not about quitting your job becoming a saint and run away to a forest. It is not about living in an empty house or a tent without electricity, phone, TV, computer etc. It is not preventing your family and kids from having essentials like good schooling, books or proper clothes. Not about stinginess, or becoming a penny pincher did not about eating low quality cheap food, remove your kids from school or taking baths etc. Finally, minimalism should not be viewed as a punishment you need to endure because you were born poor or committed since in your previous life.

So what is minimalism? ancient minimalism should be viewed as a life's discipline that will save you through good and bad times. It can prevent you from being held hostage to loudmouth, marketeers jazzy advertisements paying extra for unnecessary frills etc. It's a long distance thinking of 10 to 20 years and aimed at achieving a lifestyle that you can afford to live with for the rest of your life. Please read this sentence a couple of times. It is a long distance thinking of 10 to 20 Two years and aimed at achieving a lifestyle that you can afford to live with for the rest of your life.

The key word here is afford to live with for the rest of your life. It can also help you learn the difference between need and greed. And as you implement minimalism, it will also make you lighter and stronger. You will also gradually let go of your inevitable envy and jealousy created by constantly comparing yourself with those materially richer than you know what you may say, Okay, sounds good. Let me give it a try. Now, how do I become a minimalist?

And how long does it take? Now the journey. Becoming a minimalist is a gradual process that involves various changes in your lifestyle over a few months and years. It should be done in a slow and steady manner and cannot be done abruptly. You are and your family's mind, body and spirit must be made ready to move to the minimalism lane. For this I'll give an example of a highway that has low, medium and high speed lanes.

Suppose you're driving in your car in the high speed lane, then you must maintain a minimum speed in order to be on that lane. Any abrupt slowing stopping or switching to other lanes will definitely result in an accident to enter the low speed lane You must plan properly, look at the mirrors switch on the indicators reduce speed at the appropriate location on the highway, and then glide to this slowly. This is called the right pace and time. In other words, you need to gradually switch over the lane and not do it abruptly. minimalism should also be done in a similar and gradual way. In practical terms, minimalism is mainly about gradually learning two important wisdoms in your life.

The first one is the wisdom to control obsession with material things in your life. The second one is the wisdom to control money in your life. I'll explain what they are shortly. This is the first wisdom the wisdom to control obsession for material things. practically everyone including me have a desire to have All these kinds of luxuries in our house. These are the material things that most people expect to have nice furniture, their big house, fancy cars, ability to shop whenever they want for whatever they want, and so on.

The second wisdom is the wisdom to control money in your life. This can be either paper money, or electronic money or credit card payments. And so I will now explain how you can achieve the two wisdoms and what mindset you need to cultivate to switch to the minimalism layer. For this, please watch lecture two. However, please note one thing. This course is not about recommending rich real estate mutual funds or stocks to invest, but actually a financial mindset change that you need to begin in your life.

This brings us to the end of lecture one. Thanks for listening. Please proceed to lecture two to continue the course.
