About this lesson:

Technical analysis is very important for two reasons: First, it helps us get into a long-term position when we know that an uptrend has started. Our goal is to invest in great businesses at great prices. Often times, a great company will only be at a great price because it is temporarily out of favor. This means it has dropped in price due to selling. We don't want to get in too early if the stock is dropping, so we use many of the indicators taught in this section to tell us when the selling has ended, and when it is safe to buy the stock.

The second reason we use technical analysis is to help us find the trend on our short-term trades, where to place the trade, and when to exit a trade.

Here's what we cover:

  • What is technical analysis?
  • Trends for short-term trading
  • Higher highs/higher lows
  • Lower highs/lower lows
  • Moving average
  • Stochastics
  • Relative strength index
  • W%R
  • MACD
  • Arrows
  • Support/resistance
