When you're giving a ceremonial speech, focus on the task at hand the moment at hand. And that means it's not all about me, me, me, me, me. So at the beginning of your ceremonial speech, I wouldn't talk about Oh, gosh, this is such a big honor. Wow, I'm so honored. There may be a point later on, when you do have free rein to speak about the event and what's going on. But for the official ceremonial part, don't talk about what an honor it is for you.
Also, don't talk about how nervous you are. Oh my gosh, I'm nervous. I hope I don't mess up the oath of office. Folks, it's not about you. It's about what is actually going on the institutions involved. Don't make everything about you.
Don't talk about how you're feeling about this ceremonial speech. This ceremonial presentation, just deliver the presentation
