So how do you avoid making a bad impression when you're giving a speech or presentation? With all due respect, that's an extremely low standard. Those are very low expectations. That's like telling your investment advisor, hey, I only want you to lose $50,000. On my portfolio this year, no one would start off the year, saying I only hope to not lose too much. That's defensive.

You should go into every single speech, every single presentation, you give with an offensive attitude with the idea of, Hey, I can only win here. This is a chance for me to really communicate some great ideas I have to this audience help them and make them think better about me. You have to go into this. I hate to sound like one of these positive thinking gurus or, you know, attraction stuff. That's not what I'm talking about. Think it's realistic to think, Okay, you've got time to speak in front of these people.

And if you do a good job, you're actually going to help them and help you. So you've got to focus on the ideas you have, that are going to be interesting, relevant and memorable to your audience. If you do that, it's virtually impossible to leave a bad impression, especially if you've rehearsed on video, as I've asked you to do
