So how do you make a speech powerful and persuasive? Well, for starters, you're not going to be powerful or persuasive if people can't remember what you say the number one problem most speakers have is they're so deadly. They'll nobody remembers anything they said. You obviously can't persuade somebody if they don't remember two seconds later what you're even talking about. So, for starters, make sure you've done your due diligence, you've narrowed your speech down to a handful of key ideas. You have examples, case studies and compelling stories for each one of your points.
Next, if you're trying to persuade 50 new customers or clients at a conference on Friday, try to find three people who are at least close to the demographics of your clients or customers to come hear us speak on Wednesday. Give them your whole speech afterwards. Ask them What do they want to do? If they say, Well, I now want to buy your product right now want to sign up for this program you're doing? You know you were persuasive. If they say, good speech, TJ it means you didn't give a good speech.
So, try to test, if not the real audience, test on the audience, that small focus group audience that's similar to your real audience. Do that and videotape yourself to make sure you see yourself coming across your best and you'll increase the chances of giving a powerful and persuasive speech.
