In this video, you will learn how to use labels, as well as stickers to further give visual and graphical organization to your Trello board. So let's start off with filters. If you go to the right hand side to the menu, and check out filter cards Oh before that, in case you don't see this, it's actually right here, just click on show menu and will pop up. So go to Filter carts. And you'll notice that there are a bunch of default filters or the built in but at the moment, we haven't assigned any of these filters to any of our carts. So let's try and set them up.
Go back Click on more. And here you'll find labels. This is where we can create and edit labels as you see fit. So let's say you select the first one. So give it a name. This name could be anything that you find useful as a way to categorize cards.
So for example, maybe I'll use it to categorize cleaning tasks. You can select a color, and then you click Save. Let's see we have something else. Let's click this yellow one and I'll label this as pickup I'm just going to create another type of task just to show you another example. So now that we have our labels set up, just click here to go back. And now if you click on labels again, you can see this now updated with the new labels that we have created.
So to apply this, select one of your cards, you can either click on this pencil icon and select Edit labels and since this is a cleaning up the kitchen task will label it as cleaning. Immediately you'll see there is a green indicator So this represents the color of the label, and you click Save. And now it stands out because it is labeled as green in color. And if you want to take a step further, you can even click on this green indicator, and it will reveal the text of the label that you have put before. So let's do that for the rest of the pickup tasks. Click on the pencil icon, edit label.
Select pickup. And save. can also do this by clicking on the card itself. Go to the right hand side there's a label and select pickup. Cool. Pretty straightforward right?
Labels can also be used in a variety of other ways. So for example, I can decide that this would have more than one label. I can also define the cup, I can select this orange one if I need to. So there's no limitation to it. It's all a matter of view and how you want to label all your different cards. And later on in the course, you will find that we'll have a few examples of how labels will be used in conjunction with filters to really organize and quickly filter out information in your board.
But for now, let's go check out stickers. Go back to the menu. You'll find a button called stickers. Click on it, and there'll be a few options here for you to choose from. If you have the Trello business class, you can then customize Your own stickers and have a lot more options. But for now, we're just going to go through the free version.
And these are the stickers that come with by default. So I'm going to pick say this one here, select and drag the sticker into one of your carts. And it will appear as part of the cover of your cart. So you can also remove it, I can see this animation here. It's pretty cool. You can also remove it once you hover on it and click Remove, as easy as that.
So again, let's try another sticker. Let's try this one right here. And let's try this as well so you can stick more than one sticker. And this would, again, brings another level of customization and it helps you visually see things very quickly and makes your Trello board far more organized than any other time. To us out there
