DESCRIPTION:

It's easier to use plastic to pay for things than to use cash, right? Access to credit can place us in a state of acceptance, approval, and freedom to spend as we please. At first, the perception can be that there are no limitations and no accountability. But, what about when we receive that monthly credit card bill? Payments don't just happen.

It's easy to associate the feelings of significance, individual importance, and freedom to spend with having money. But, that initial excitement of entitlement can wear off quickly at the arrival of monthly credit card statements; especially when the credit card company wants full payment immediately (e.g., American Express and gas station credit cards). Think about how easy it is to apply for a store credit card. When at the checkout register, the sales clerk invites you to apply for the store's card and immediately get 20% off your current purchase. All you need to qualify is a valid ID and a valid...you guessed it...credit card....
