This section deals primarily with 'selections', which means a selected part of an image. Images are made up of pixels. If part of your image is ok, but another part needs adjustment, you can make a 'selection' of it. Then, you can change it as you wish without changing anything else. There are several different selection tools in Photoshop, and you don't have to stick with just one of them. I usually begin with one tool, then switch to another that will make the next part of the selection easier. And so on. The section also covers saving selections, basic use of the Layers panel, and saving an image as a jpg. Selections are absolutely vital to almost everything you'll want to do in Photoshop, so it's really important that you watch these videos before moving on to the next section of the course.
