DESCRIPTION: Postpartum is often extremely isolating and yet you are rarely ever actually alone. It's quite a conundrum. The sense of loneliness is really common for many reasons. In early recovery, you don&rsquo;t really leave the house much and you shouldn&rsquo;t but gets old really fast. Often times it's just you and baby all night and into the early morning with frequent feedings and your kid isn&rsquo;t much of a conversationalist. Outings are tough for all the reasons and sometimes an outing just sounds like too much work after you were up all night. As I said many reasons.
Being lonely and a new parent is just not how this was supposed to be. We were meant to raise children in villages and be surrounded by people and support all the way through. I think that&rsquo;s what makes this loneliness all the more painful. If you are feeling this, I suggest being proactive in finding your village.
