DESCRIPTION: Progress to phase 2 once phase 1 becomes routine and easy but no sooner than 6 weeks postpartum
Overview: This phase is absolutely essential to building full functional strength. Before moving forward, you need to be out of pregnancy posture, return to diaphragmatic breathing, and have found your abdominals and pelvic floor again. Any pelvic floor gripping needs to be released and any scar tissue needs to be mobilized before your system will be able to activate properly. There are also a few tightnesses to unwind that are a result of pregnancy. This is the most unrewarding phase but it is the most important one. If you go to strengthen before completing this reprogramming part, you will only be strengthening your compensators ultimately leading to pain and injury. Trust me on this one. Spend the time to build the right way. It's worth it in the long run.
