DESCRIPTION: If your car can tolerate the sensation of clothing or a wrap over it, bands and belly wraps are useful aids in allowing the scar to heal. The compression can decrease any pressure or pull put on the scar as well as assist in the tissues coming together and regaining tensile strength. There are many bands and belly wraps out there. I have included a few links to the ones I like. These bands are not meant to be a replacement for your abdominals but can be very helpful in the first 4 weeks to assist in the healing as you rest and allow it to do so.
There are also practitioners that do traditional belly wrapping often using the assistance of plant medicine. I interviewed two of them, Cait and Cherish if you want to learn more about that.
