DESCRIPTION: Birth is inherently a form of trauma. Even if you had the best possible labor and delivery, it is still trauma. And most people don&rsquo;t have the best possible labor and delivery. Most experience an additional level of trauma whether it be medical, physical, or emotional. I believe this is why many people won&rsquo;t be able to accurately recount the events of their birth. I think it is a survival mechanism to not remember all of it.
If you are hearing this and thinking, gosh jenny, I actually have really fond memories and feelings toward my labor and delivery, that&rsquo;s lovely. And I&rsquo;m not trying to change that. I don&rsquo;t want you to change that. Savor that. That is amazing. I&rsquo;m bringing this up for the people who need to hear it and if you aren&rsquo;t one of them, that&rsquo;s ok. You don&rsquo;t need to be. But I didn&rsquo;t want it to go unsaid for those that do need this.
