DESCRIPTION: Normal bowel health is having a smooth, clean, soft, well-formed, and painful poop every day. Pooping should come easy and take no more than 10 minutes on the toilet. You should also have minimal bearing down or pushing in order to poop. You should feel like you have gotten all the poop out and no poop or gas should come out involuntarily. You should also be able to discern whether you have poop or a fart that needs to come out. You should feel the urge to poop well in advance of really needing to go and you should be able to hold it until you are at a poop receptacle assuming you prefer to poop in one. You should not experience hemorrhoids or varicosities beyond any you acquired in pregnancy or during delivery. If you do, pooping problems including constipation usually contribute to their persistence or development.
