DESCRIPTION: First off, let it be known that I hate the term pooch but I know that’s what is most commonly used to describe the lower abdomen in postpartum so I decided to use it in the title of this module for anyone who is unhappy with the looks or feeling of their lower abdomen.
Secondly, this quote-on-quote pooch is not a fat problem. You do not need to lose more weight and if you did, that would not make it go away. It's actually an abdominal weakness problem and here’s why. The lowest abdominals were stretched out the most in pregnancy. That’s a fact. They are also the muscles that have the hardest time coming back postpartum. Now the pressure will always go to the path of least resistance so what you are seeing when you see that portion of your belly sticking out, is pressure pushing into outstretched tissues. Now the catch here is that those stretched tissues don’t stand a chance at healing as long as they continued to be stretched out and your lower abdominals...
