This is the Earth: 

71% is covered by the ocean - since we don’t have gills, we can't live here. 
Focusing on the land - 10% is glaciers, 19% is barren, and what’s left over used to all be covered in green. 

Today, 1% is covered by cities and towns and 50% is used for agriculture. The rest is what’s left for life to grow free. 


Forests hold 80% of the world’s plants and animals and it’s estimated that humans have cut down 46% of all trees that used to cover the land.


Protecting and restoring the Earth’s land is the UN’s Goal #15. 
If Climate Change is mainly caused by too much carbon in the atmosphere, shouldn’t we just invent a machine that sucks carbon out of the air? 

This advanced technology already exists - it's called trees. 
They breathe in Carbon to make their food, and replace it with more oxygen in the air.
