When it comes to food, there are two sides to the story. 

Extreme waste 
Extreme hunger

There’s more than enough food in the world to go around, but 820 million people go hungry every day. That’s why the UN made Zero Hunger, Goal #2. 
Extreme poverty caused by conflict or disaster leaves people without enough money to purchase food, 


This links to deforestation as these people rely more on collecting wood, the environment becomes degraded and the soil becomes bad for growing


Without enough nutritious food, children can become sick and malnourished, but malnourished also refers to people who are overweight and develop diet related diseases.  
Food deserts are common in rural and urban low-income areas where there’s very limited access to fresh and nutritious foods. 

Some neighborhoods don’t have a grocery store and instead rely on the local gas station or fast-food spot. 
These are the same groups that don’t have access to transportation to get them to a market.
