Clean water is our most basic need and it takes up 60% of our bodies. We can go 30 days without food, but only 8 days without water. This is why the UN made access to clean water for everyone today and for future generations - Goal #6.
The water that emerges from our faucets in our homes comes from underground springs and aquifers. It takes some large mechanical pumps and pipes to pump the water out of these springs and aquifers. From there, the water is treated and sent to all of our homes where we use an average of 80-100 gallons per day.
