In the previous lectures, following the blueprint and the sketch, we created shapes what we needed head shapes, eyes, eyebrows, and now it's time to create some hairstyles and the accessories. Okay, no has this time you can create your own. I will focus rather on few glasses and some very interesting hairstyles. So let's duplicate the head Ctrl D. I'm just gonna use this color because they are all the same shape. And using the Bezier tool, the pen tool, just create some very basic hairstyles. What is the most basic hairstyle before the Bezier tool, I'm using the circle tool because the most basic hairstyle is bold.

So, if you are a man, I know what you're talking about. That's a very basic hairstyle. The circle I made is just a little shine on We'll make it semi transparent. To make the ad make the head shiny. duplicated this little ellipse and have proper shiny head. trendy, fashionable works with every head style.

Definitely because we have only one shape. Let's create some punk hair on my hair. And yeah, some basic modern hairstyles. just grabbing the Bezier tool, the pen tool, I'm just throwing a rough polygon. And now with the note tool, I'm control clicking these nodes to make them curves. This is a very simple modern hairstyle.

I like it very much because I have the same hair. Okay, seriously, it is very easy to make is just a wave. I delete this node, I don't need it and I just shape it more to make it more wavy, more curvy, you know. I delete this note too. Good, I'm satisfied. Looks nice, has a nice dynamic movement.

What is missing on this side, it looks like it's bold. So I'm adding a little shape. And we page down I put it behind the head. I deprecate the head, select this little triangle and with path difference, I cut it off. And now I select the triangle and the hair. I shave the hair a bit more.

Yeah, I like this better. So it's not like them and I can merge them together and make it even higher. So control plus or path union and I merged them together. Now adopted the head and create another style. I have the bunker I have this emo kind of hair and I have a proper spiky manga hair. just creating a mohawk this punk hair.

I'm making it thinner here on the bottom. I am creating just one half because it's symmetrical. So I will create one half the applicated flipping horizontally and then merge the two halves together. I use this technique a lot when I want to create something symmetrical. And pull it here in and out a bit. Just to play with it.

Okay, the applicate the Ctrl D flip it with age With this icon arrange them next to each other perfectly good than one each other. merge them together recontra plus a path union and there is a little gap. I just deleted that note. Now I can make it spike here, here and there. I select the T, two nodes on the two ends together and move them together. So I'm selecting with the shift and move them together so they keep symmetrical.

Also here on the bottom, I make them a bit thinner. Yeah. I arrange it to the head. And that's it. My pink hair is done. Let's create some mango hair and some other hairstyles.

So applicate the shape of the head again, and I just have an idea i duplicated again and I create a hair Which is short shaven but not absolutely shaven, so it's cut very short but short. So at the applicate the head make it brown and semi transparent to create this light brown color and I cut off the bottom. So I drew the square path difference. I double click to add this node or select the two nodes on the side and on this node with this top icon and I can move these nodes up and down again and two more nodes select them move them up. You see me starting to be this very manly hair shape. Good.

This could be a hairstyle on its own nice emboss but I deprecated and I will use it also for my bunker. So it's not looks doesn't look totally shaven. I arrange it to the head it looks very nicely bust. Tough guy look. Okay, what does I have two more sighs and applicate the head with the bus here so select both of them which shift and Ctrl D and with the polygon tool I'm creating this crazy looking mango here it's transparent so I make it hundred percent and now with Ctrl click I make these curves and I'm pulling these lines to make them curves too. So to make it curvy and not so straight, Okay, looks nice looks weird.

What else is this emo hair or combed over here you know the one with the fringe. So I duplicate the basic head and I select the head duplicated again, colored Brown, move it upper a bit and cut off again the bottom of it. So I draw a square. Select both of them control minus or path difference and as the top of the hair and now with the Bezier tool with the polygon tool I am adding the fringe, make it a bit bigger to make the bowl of the hair a bit bigger. And zooming to see where the edges are meeting the control click I'm making this edge a curve pulling these straight lines again into curves. If you saw Spider Man three, you know what I'm talking about and make this also.

Yeah, a bit higher, shave the hair a bit. So this is like a proper combo over a big range. select them both with shift and control plus to add them together path union. Now I have six different hairstyle from both to mango to come over. And in the sketches I see I also created a member so I the applicate the base Head make the top one darker and not transparent. Okay, me the simple square which I round down again, I create the bond.

I turn it into a path, select the nodes on the bottom and scale them together is going to look like a brush but that's a member. And I give another round it's square, make it orange, or whatever color blue something that's look. Yeah, gray is quite neutral, arrange it to the middle of the head and that's the ribbon. Let's pay with the ponytail a bit more. The bun looks very Japanese. If it would be dark black it would be Japanese very much.

Okay, so these are all my different hairstyles. I just select them and move them down a bit. I lost the Mohawk I select everyone and move them down again to Keep my design clean. And I delegate all of them and move them separately to create the new colors. So select all of them, even the semi transparent ones because they are the same color just transparent. So holding Shift, I'm selecting all the little hairs.

I don't need to have the bold one and I pick the color of the reddish eyebrow. I could delete the bold one because that's the same hire style. But I have six other ones. Now I'd applicate these hairstyles again, holding Shift selecting again all of the hair pieces. And now I will pick the color of the yellow eyebrows, which is blonde, and now I have blonde hair. So from the six different hairstyles, plus Baldy I created 21 or no 18 different hairstyles plus one and no I just give some glasses to give even more fun to the color.

I'd applicate one face shape and eye shape so I can measure it. I use this now as my base, arrange them together. Yeah This will be where my eyes will be. I know I just will create basic glasses This is how I create glasses for all of my characters if you wanted to know the secret, that's the secret glasses are frames. So I'm creating rectangle rounded down and make sure that is the same a bit bigger than the eyes. duplicated me path difference.

I got a hole in it. So that's it I have a frame. I duplicated it made it smaller and got a hole in it. Now I just sighs it make it a bit shorter. It was too too wide for me now. I had to beat the from the circle because around the square goes, the glass has this, the glasses have this little arms on the side.

I duplicate the whole thing and flip it with age. Now I just have to create the bridge between the two I bases, arrange them to the eyes. So I deprecate this and pull it horizontally to the middle so everything is in the same line, but maybe this one has to be higher good. So I have the bridge, I have the little arms on the side, I select everything holding Shift the glasses, and with Ctrl G Ctrl G, I create a group. And now I'm creating shade sunglasses to have a tougher looking corrector. I'm just creating a very, very rounded square and draw a circle over it.

Select them and measure them vertically And I select path intersection to cut off the top of the square. And that's it. It's already looking like a lens. I make it dark gray. I could give it a bit of a gradient and another gray spot here to make it shiny. I group them up duplicated and put them aside.

I create the bridge again. This time it will be gold, so it's like a kind of yellow. To make metal he grew up with pale yellow, I replicated to create the arms of the glasses. We page down and put them behind the lenses duplicate again. match it on the side page down, put it behind the lens. That's it.

Now I select everything and I grew up it's actually not a good idea. Yeah, I made the slide too because I selected everything and I selected the eyes as well underneath, so that's not a good idea. We Shift Ctrl G I break up the group and with alt, I select the face and the eyes moved aside and now group up my glasses so the eyes will be not part of my glasses. Okay, so I can make this Harry Potter glasses which are absolutely rounded. We will do the same frame thing what we did with the first glasses but now with circles. If you push Ctrl and five on the numeric keyboard, you go to the outline view.

So you can see how big is the I behind the circle. So I just created the circle duplicated, made the duplication smaller and push control minus or path difference to cut it out. Now create the legs For the glasses, the thing which is fastening it to your ears, duplicate it and flip it and create the bridge in the middle. I want a little nice circle so I borrow again a mouth. That's modularity as well in the making. It's like I said Harry Potter because he has no hair.

Okay, so I am making this bridge a bit smaller, with thicker, good, and pink the color holding Shift so not the fill color holding Shift and picking the color of the frames. And that's it. I select all the parts of the glasses, I made this fit. holding Shift I select these five parts in with Ctrl G, I merged them into group. And that's it. Three glasses, three different glasses for my characters.

Well We made so much so far, so much. We used our blueprint here and created three different skin tones, a lot of different eyes, eyebrows, different smiles, 11 different mouth and three colors of six different hairstyles and the glasses. Let's see how I assemble a few characters out of these little modules. I made this part going faster because I don't want to rob your time or make this course look longer than it actually is. And you can do the same. So I'm basically holding Shift selecting one head shape one eye one smile one hair and the control the duplicating it and putting aside and then I'm adding the those elements together and create angry faces, happy faces, bald people, people with long haired people with short hair, big smiles, different people.

And that's it Here I created a different hair color as well. So I'm duplicating the hairs and picking a darker hair color. So now I have four hair colors, and I can make even more characters with that. I'm making dumb characters and clever ones and I'm, I'm having a lot of fun. And this is what modular design is all about having all your little details, like in a box of Lego bricks, and create your very own characters or very own design. I'm just holding Shift clicking on the details and add them together and build my different characters.

I can even delete the eyes here because the bank is good without eyes is good with just the glasses and he doesn't need eyebrows either. This guy looks like Dennis Rodman in love. And this is like a hipster barista guy with the Japanese hairstyle. So this part was only about assembling the faces. But if you are interested, you can email me anytime. And I can show you the long video if you want to bore yourself with how I build phases, were more important parties that we used our sketch.

Without how we want to build a character, we created the blueprint. And according to blueprint, we created the head shape, eyebrows, eyes and everything. And then we created all our details. And using all these little modules, we could build our very own very different characters. actually using these modules or modifying them even a bit more. We create hundreds, if not thousands of unique characters.

Have fun. Create your own self portray, create your own characters, show me what you can do.
