Module seven, network with potential employers. What would you normally do? When you're looking for a job and you want to network? You would send your resume a or talk to people who are relatives who are friends who are ex spouses, who are your ex colleagues. Right? But is that enough?
Not at all, as I mentioned to you in my previous video, that these steps are all right, but you need to do something innovative and go beyond. What you need to do is develop relationships and invest in them with the potential hiring employees. I'll show you how to do this. Hello and welcome. I am surreptitious, such, we know that jobs this can be a very frustrating experience for most professionals, because they don't really use innovative and out of the box methods to search for a job. In the previous module, we learned how to get a job through a recruitment agency. In this module, we will learn how to influence your connections and network with them so that you get closer to getting that interview call. Here are four steps to effectively influence these hiring managers and make your approach effective. Step one, industry seminars and conferences.
There are tons of seminars, conferences, exhibitions that are happening pertaining to your industry. Read about them in the newspapers on the internet on your mobile, see when they are scheduled and make it a point to attend them. by attending them you will actually know who the hiring manager is who the decision maker is, and you will also get to know their names. That's step one. Step two is reference sick route is to ask your references to introduce you to the hiring managers and the HR managers. And you can use LinkedIn as a platform and your connections to do this.
Step three is investing in a relationship. Just like in a bank account, you have to first deposit and then withdraw. If you keep withdrawing, there will be a time where the entire thing will become the MRI. So what do you do? How do you develop that? in a relationship?
You need to first add value, you need to first ensure that relationship is strengthened. And how do you do it? As as explained in one of my videos, you need to send them blogs, you need to send them articles, case studies, industry news, anything unique, which will be of interest to that hiring manager or your potential employer. That's how you build a relationship. Step four is meet them. Before you meet them, do a lot of homework through LinkedIn about your connection or your potential employer.
What are their interests in their personal capacities? Also what are the milestones that have been achieved by the company they work for? When you meet them and you have knowledge about them, they will be impressed and enthused to actually meet. So friends, there are four quick steps to actually get close and personal with your potential employees the way I showed you. So get up, start taking action on that and you will start reaping the benefits. We will now move on to our next module of how to do an impactful follow up with your potential employer.
