DESCRIPTION: Chapter 4 Jñāna-Karma-Sannyāsa-Yoga Lord Krishna explained Sankhya-Yoga and Karma-Yoga in the second and third chapters. These two Yogas are very well known from the beginning of the creation itself through the Karma-Kanda and Jñana-Kanda of the Vedas. Krishna begins the fourth chapter by referring to Arjuna that he initiated the lineage of Vivasvan (Lord Sun), Manu, Iksvaku, and others in the beginning of the creation (through the Vedas). Krishna further says that &ldquo;it is the same Vedic wisdom which is being revived by him to Arjuna in the form of the Gita because it has been forgotten by that time (BG 4.2, 3). Here, Arjuna asks Krishna, &ldquo;How can he be the initiator of the ancient Vedic Wisdom (BG 4.4) while he is being born in same lifetime as him&rdquo;. Krishna here explains about his Avataras (incarnations).
