DESCRIPTION: Chapter 15 Purushottama Yoga In chapter 13 and 14 Lord Krishna has revealed the non-dualistic (Advaita) of Jiva and Ishwara. Krishna begins this chapter by comparing the vastness and endless nature of Samsara with the mighty ashvattha tree. Like this tree, the samsara is vast, multi-branched, well-rooted and not easily destructible. It is also mysterious in nature. Jiva is caught in the illusion of samsara and seems like helplessly struggling to free itself. Further Krishna teaches us the following techniques to liberate ourselves from the miseries of samsara by the following means:- Vairajna &ndash; developing detachment from the samsara by knowing its binding and changing nature or illusion and freeing the mind from worldly desires.
Know Brahma or the supreme self as the ultimate cause of everything. Following these two practices, Krishna points out the qualifications (adhikara-guna), which are:- Sakshi and Samabhava &ndash; Awareness and equanimity in the pairs of opposites...
