DESCRIPTION: Chapter 17 Shraddha-Traya-Vibhāga-Yoga In the previous chapter Lord Krishna concluded us to follow the teachings of Shastras or scriptures as the Pramana (valid knowledge) to determine what is right and what is wrong to do in life. This chapter begins with Arjuna asking a question- &ldquo;To what category a person belongs to Tri-Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, or Tamas) when he or she is following the path of worship and devotion without scriptural knowledge?&rdquo; Krishna mentions that even people performing the worship or following the path of devotion may belong to any of the Gunas depending on the temperament, intention and desires. These people follow the path of devotion or worship by seeing others performing them and they gradually develop faith according to their own character. The person who follows the path of devotion and worship based on scriptural teachings will have the sattvic faith by nature. Our faith or Sraddha is of three types based on the goal or object of the worship....
