DESCRIPTION: Welcome to this video on why deep breathing is important. Our lungs have the capacity of holding 17 pints of air. The average human now in the western world only has about 2 pints of air in their lungs. This will lead to the bottom of the lungs holding stale air there. This is not a good situation for your lungs to be in if you want to have a healthy body. Also, if we don’t use our lungs to their full capacity, they start to lose their elasticity. You can train your lungs to get that back if you don’t leave this too long. To maintain healthy lungs, and indeed, a healthy body, we need to get in the practice of breathing deeply every day. This really became clear to me on a tube train in London. I will share the story with you.
I was sitting on a tube train and it was crowded. The seats are too small to hold a passenger comfortably, and you are pushed next to another passenger because of this. We were in the middle of rush hour and the tube train was particularly crowded....
