DESCRIPTION: Welcome to this video on how deep breathing shifts your autonomic nervous system. The first three videos of this module are to do with scientific studies on breathing and meditation and how this actually affects your body. When I was first introduced to scientific studies, I thought to myself boring, but my viewpoint has changed. What it has done for me is backed up by empirical evidence. My empirical evidence is what I have experienced personally. I feel this is the best evidence, but I did need a kick start by firstly, looking at scientific studies. I will try to keep this interesting and not academic, so try to stick with this. Pranayama breathing is deep breathing, and this is the type of breathing they used for this study.
