What motivates the hero in your story? And does your hero have some reluctance? Now when I say here, I just mean the main person and it could be you in your story who does something that people can relate to and see, this ended up being positive? It doesn't mean they have to slay dragons, or rescue men or women in distress. But there's got to be some nuance there. If you really want to be effective.

Do they have nagging doubts? Are they being pushed into something that isn't a natural fit with their skills and their interest? Share this with your audience, and your hero will be more interesting, more credible and more believable to your audience.
