Greetings. I'm Professor Kay. And in this short video presentation, we're going to take a look at the New Start menu in server 2016. We can access the start menu by going all the way over to the left down here at the bottom, you have this Windows icon, just click on that, that's going to open up the New Start Menu. Now you'll notice that it looks like a combination of the old Start Menu. Now with the new tile menu added on to it.

By right clicking on the tile, you have the option to either unpin it from the start menu or uninstalled, you can run it as administrator, you can do all kinds of different things just by right clicking on these tiles. The same thing can be said for this Start Menu over here on the left. Now you can go in here, you can open up you can see the acessories you have a lot of things that are made available to you inside of the windows acessories. And there's a lot of things that are provided for you at the default Start Menu itself and of course you can right click on these things and get that same feature that you saw inside of the tile menu. Now another neat feature about this is you can right click on the Start menu, and you get a bunch more options. So you got the Programs and Features, that's our quick way to get to the uninstaller of a program that you may want to remove, get your power options, got the event, of course, you've got system, Device Manager, all these things that you need to have access to right away.

You also have the command prompt, and you can also bring up the command prompt for the admin. Now normally, I don't do that I just use the search bar and I just type in what it is I'm looking for, and it just brings it up for me. Now another thing you can do is when you go inside of this optional menu here, you can go to the shutdown, and you'll see that you can sign out you can shut down or you can restart and you can also get this option by clicking on the power button. And you'll also see that you have a shut down and reached Now if you do a shutdown, you're going to have the option to either select why you're shutting down and this is just for informational purposes only, or you can type something in whatever you want to do.
