The final category of questions to discuss is trick questions. From time to time, you will encounter interviewers who will ask you a trick or devious type of question to see if you have been truthful throughout the interview. Their goal is to get a greater sense about you. The purpose of trick questions is to throw you off, to confuse you and to get you to potentially uncover a hidden defect that the interviewer did not find prior to asking the question. Now, try not to confuse trick questions with questions that might be really difficult to where you are asked about a really tough situation or are asked to role-play. Often, when employers ask extremely tough situational questions it means that it is just a really tough environment to work in. Tough situational questions also can give you a true indication of what life will be like on the job.
