Part one is broken into seven sections. 

The first section involves determining what device or devices you will use.
The second section involves setting up a Google account specifically for your new wi-fi phone system, utilizing an application called Google voice. Google voice is the backbone of your new wi-fi phone system.
The third section involves securing your phone number. And yes, you can transfer your existing number. Though after going through this section, you may end up deciding to start fresh by having a new phone number.
The fourth section involves installing all of the needed Apps to operate your new wi-fi phone. 
The fifth section involves setting up international calling and porting (or transferring) your existing cell phone number to Google.
