Transcript

So hello and welcome back. For this video, we're going to look into adding products to our store. We're going to go into the catalog really quick, and you'll see that our store is still showing dummy photos for all of our products. Let's go back to the admin area for Shopify COMM And we'll go to your products and to the Products page, you'll see that we have the option to import products. If you have a CSV file that lists all the products that you have already, I don't have one of these. So I'm going to go ahead and click cancel and I'm going to go and click Add product.

So there are two types of products that you can add to your store. Simple or variable products, simple products or products that only come in one size. Variable products can come in different sizes, shapes or colors. So I'm going to add a title for my first product. pink blush jacket. And then I'm going to add a product description.

And there's our product description. And now I'm going to upload some images of our product. Okay, there are images. If I wanted to change the order of these, I can drag them. I'll leave them as they were before. And so here we set the pricing of our products.

Now say our products was going on sale, if we had the original price, we put it here at the Compare at, let's say the original price for this product was $80. And the price that we want to show to our customers is 65. So here's our inventory. If you have skews for your products, you can add them in here you also have the option to have Shopify track your product inventory and shipping. Say it's a physical product. So when we were doing our Shipping settings earlier we set weight based restrictions, I'm going to go ahead and leave this alone.

But if you had a heavier product, you would put the weight of that in here. And then it would update the shipping for the price of that product don't have any variance. This is our search engine preview. So we can organize our product type. I'll add a product type of jacket and then vendor. So say that you were selling goods from different stores like Nike or Adidas, you would put those in here as well.

There's collections which we don't have yet, but we can add later and then I'm going to add some tags to our product as well for even more categorization. Then I'm going to go ahead and save. So let's go ahead and view this product in the store. Photos haven't loaded, let me refresh. So here's our product in the store with the photos that we've added. You can see what they look like.

And this is great. So let's go back and add a variable product to our store. So we're back in the product page and you can see that our jacket has been added to the store. And now we're going to go ahead and add another product. This product is going to be a variable product and it's going to be a shirt that comes in different colors. So add a title.

This is going to be our wrap color. And I'm going to go ahead and add in the description, paste and then in Instead of going directly here to images, I'm going to scroll down here to variants and add a variant. Option name is going to be color. Our option values we set our shirt came in Ruby mustard or magenta. So add Ruby, mustard, and magenta. And then we'll add another option for the size.

And we set our size range with small to large. So adding in small, medium and large And we'll go ahead and say. So now that we have our list of variants, we want to go ahead and add some images for these variants. I'm going to come back up to the images section, click on add images, and I'm going to upload the images of our variations. So there are three variant images, and then I can click on the Ruby shirt, select the image that I'd like to add and safe. And then I'll go ahead and do that for all of these.

The mustard shirt is mustard. So we'll click the yellow and save. The chant is the pink shirt. Save. So I'm gonna go ahead and go through and do this for all of these and then show you what this looks like in the end. So here's what that variable product looks like in our store.

You'll see if I click on color, I can change the color of the shirt that's displayed. Here's our list of available sizes. color changes with each color, you'll see that I forgot to add a price for this product. I'm going to go back to the product page. And I'm going to edit the prices for these in bulk. So I'm going to click Select all variants.

And they'll come here to edit variance. And this is where you can edit products in bulk. I'm going to select the price tab and change the price to 30. And then I'm going to change the Compare at price to 40. And then I'm going to save and you'll see that Shopify is going through and editing these prices in mass. So come back down here.

To our variance, and you'll see that the price has changed. And then I'm going to go ahead and view this in our store again. And the price has been updated here as well. So I'm going to go ahead and add a bunch more products to our store. And then the next fit, I'll show you how to add these products into separate collections for further organization. So now you'll see I've added a bunch of different products to my store.

Let's go ahead and take a look at what that looks like in this shop preview. So here, all those products that I've added, you'll see under the catalog that they're all just together like this, we could further separate them into sections such as tops, bottoms, or jackets by adding them to collections. So let's go back to the admin area. And we'll come to collections. And then we're going to create a new collection. We'll call this collection tops.

If I wanted to, I could add a description. And then we can sort our collection type, either manually or automated. If you do it automated, it's set by product tag, I'm going to go ahead and set my collection type to manual, and save. And you'll see I can start adding products to this collection. There's nothing here. So I'm going to go ahead and add something in.

This is a top, this is a top and this is a top. So you see these products are in our tops collection, I can sort them by best selling. We can do it by product title. Let's do it by best selling for now. So let's go ahead and see what that looks like. So now I have a section just for tops.

I'm going to go ahead and create a section for my bottoms and my jackets as well. So I'll go back into create collection, multi bottoms, you can manually actually let's try the automated system. So search product tag is equal to bottoms, so I created tags. Then I'll save collection. And then based on the tags that I used earlier, you'll see that I grabbed all the bottom items that I had at my store. And then we'll do this one more time for our jackets.

BUTCHER tagging it might make this process a little bit faster. packet tax See, all the correct products are in the selection. Let's go ahead and do this one more time. So here are just the jackets on my store. But you'll notice that when I come to catalog there's nowhere for me to select those collections that I've created. So we're going to go ahead and change our navigation so that we'll be able to see these collections as well.

So back in the admin area, I'm going to come to online store and then go to navigation. And then I'm going to come into main menu and I want to add some items to the catalog by adding a new menu item. I'm going to title this page cops and then I'm going to link it to that new collection that we created called tops. Add And you'll see that it's been added to our main menu, but I wanted to show under the catalog, so I'm going to grab it and drag underneath catalog and you'll see this is here. So now I can go ahead and add menu items to catalog directly and I'm going to add our bottoms and the links that collection and add another menu item for our jackets, selections jackets in the link. So now these are in our menu, and I'm going to save and then let's go back to our store and refresh.

And you'll see that our catalog icon is changed to this drop down arrow. Click that you can To the new collections that we've added to our store. So now I'll go to the tops collection. And all of our tops are here together, bottoms, all of our bottoms, jackets and all of our jackets. So I'm going to go to the homepage really quick. And I mentioned that we have this new arrivals section right now if I click on explore new arrivals, it takes us to all the products in our store.

So really quickly, I'm going to go back and add a new arrivals collection and add it to our menu for the catalog as well. So back to the admin area. Then back to products. I'll come to collections, create a collection. And then I'm going to title this collection new arrivals. You had sale items as well, you could create a sale collection for yourself.

I'm going to add these products manually. So I'm going to go through my products list and select the products I'd like for this collection. So here are the products for this collection. I'm just going to set them by product title. And this is saved. So let's do this collection.

These are all of our new arrivals. I'm going to go back to the online store and add this to our navigation. Then I'm going to come and add our new arrivals collection and, and I want this to be at the top of our catalog menu. So I'm going to grab these little dots here and drag it up so it's at the top and safe Now if I go back to this ad on the homepage, this still links to the new arrivals, the full product catalog. I want to change this link so that it links to our new arrivals tab. So I'm going to come into the admin area.

And I'm actually going to come back to the theme section. And then I want to customize our theme. So here's the controls for our home slider. I'm going to come under new arrivals. And I'm going to change the button link to our collection. And we'll link it to our new arrivals collection.

And we're going to save So one more time, we'll refresh our site and come to our homepage. Now if I click on explore new arrivals, it takes us to our new arrivals section, all the products that we've added to our catalog. So one last thing in our navigation, you'll see that I have an error where the tops section is showing outside of the catalog. I'm going to come back to our menu under navigation, and come down here and delete that extra tops page. Click remove, and then save our menu. And then I'll come back to our navigation and refresh and there's a change in the next video, we'll take a look at some apps
