All right, here we go section two, before we get into what I call a human operating system, I have a question for you. Are you a chef? Or are you a cook? So think about that. Yes, obviously, we could answer that in terms of how do you handle yourself in the kitchen with food prep. But if you haven't caught on by now, all of the examples that I use and that we'll use throughout this course, are analogous to the way we approach life.
So like the Buddhist saying, how we do anything is how we do everything. So again, the question is, are you a chef, or are you a cook? Right, you got your answer. Good. So now you have your answer. Here's the rest of the lesson.
If we are a cook, we need a recipe we need a plan in order to arrive at the finished product. Right a, a line cook or a cook of any kind has to be given step by step instructions. Do this follow this ABC do this blah, blah, blah, put it in, get it out, input in output out. Here's your finished product, right. On the other hand, a chef can present a finished product without any instructions without a recipe or given a recipe. They can look at it and draw inspiration.
They can use it as a jumping off point. They don't have to follow the plan or the template to present the finished product. You follow? Good. So are we a chef or are we a cook and the real difference between being a chef and being a cook is Ownership of information. What is required to move from being a cook into the realm of being a chef?
The answer, owning the information. If we stick with a chef and a cook, you know, the chef has complete ownership of that information. They know how to treat particular meats, what the cook time and what the cook temperature is, or making this particular sauce or for getting this vegetable to the right tenderness without burning it or the right amount of crispiness without burning it, right. All of that would be provided in the instruction for a cook. But it's all stuff that is up here for the chef. And so, the reason that I present this to you at this point in this online course, is that I want you to own the information.
I want to teach you how to fish so you can eat yourself for life. I don't want to You'd have to come to me or go to anybody. Anytime you need a fish for a meal, right? teach a man to fish for himself for life, right? That's what we're doing. It requires ownership of information.
And so as it pertains to this section of the online course, mastering our minds, you having ownership of the space between your ears. We're all humans. We all have the same biology, we have the same physiology. Human Physiology is universal. So I promise you, if you can master what we're about to go through, if you can own this information, there's nothing you cannot do. Okay.
Whatever you want to call it, leadership, discipline, consistency, mental mastery, high performance, growth, progress, success, whatever term you want to use. These are all expensive. of our ability to control the same underlying operating system, human OS, the human operating system, right? And I promise you if you understand human behavior, that knowledge transcends any specific approach. It can be applied it's transfer of skill that can be applied to any pursuit of relationships, leadership, business, health, fitness, wellness, whatever. Right?
If we understand human physiology, and that includes behavior, psychology, you know, values actions, this human nature, right, we can then use that information to control to manipulate to to bend our own physiology, our own workings, our own behaviors, actions, choices and decisions, to fit our goals and values and to make sure that our actions are aligned with those values. Not our feelings. We'll talk about that in the upcoming video. So as we go into the rest of section two here, human operating system, we're not going to be using the workbooks a lot. So you'll see if you're following along in your workbook, the next two pages are just blank for a lot of notetaking. I promise you, I will make this as painless and as unbarring as not boring as what's the opposite of boring as exciting as possible.
The next video will be the main component of our science here, it's going to be the neuroscience of of high performance. It'll be the biology, the physiology of how we're wired, how feelings dictate our decisions, and what's going on there. So that you can be in control you can be the horse steering, or you can be the rider steering the horse at a dictating pace and speed rather than the horse taking the rider for a ride. Okay, so see in the next video
