And welcome to the coach's brain read where we're going to be having a look at hypnotic language. First of all, we're going through the foundations. And what we'll be doing through the coach's brain MRI we'll be using these kinds of patterns to create guided visualizations. And also, they're relevant to the induction process. So the foundation of these being certain language patterns and then known as hypnotic language patterns. Being able to evoke motion through words, creates change.

So when we're doing trance inductions, when we're doing any of those processes, emotion that comes up with the use of the words and with the Energy and the tone that we put into the words. It's a huge part of being a successful coach. So, what is conversational hypnosis? Let's face it conversational hypnosis. All conversation is hypnosis from the time we're babies. other humans can hypnotize us.

But here's the question. What does it mean to be hypnotized by somebody when we begin hypnotic language patterns, we tend to picture some slick men directly gazing it as in willingness to go into trance, watch the watch when you hear me count to one, you will fall into trance and do my bidding you will be under my spell. So that's the Hollywood version. Which is more dynamic Can you know tension a little bit interesting, then reality but what He's trends, we actually go into trends ourselves dozens of times a day. And when we get our clients into trance, that's where we can do really amazing, transformative work for them. So this is why we're learning how to do it.

So how do you know like when you're in trends, you know if you have kids, so the kids might be pedaling on about something that they did at school like that editor and you just kind of zone out your entrance. When you're working on something, or maybe you're just sitting there daydreaming, losing track of time, you're in trance. When you're driving, and you can't recall every single turn and step that you took to get to your destination. You're in trance, walking into a room and forgetting why you're there. You've gone into trance. But there's actually something though, that we're talking about with the brain that when you go into a different room, it shuts off what you were just thinking So it's the processing part of the brain we're not actually forgetful anyway and losing our train of thought in the middle of conversation that could signify that we have gone into trance.

So whenever we go inside our heads rather than observing what's going on out in the world, we're actually in trance. Whenever we talk to ourselves, we are in trance so I am probably actually in trance a lot of the time. Anyway, trance is where we connect to our unconscious mind dreamier trance, any activity we do an automatic pilot, it shows us that our unconscious mind is in control. All our automatic body functions like breathing, digesting food falling asleep. They're all controlled unconsciously. So here's something go ahead and see if you can consciously digest your last meal.

Go ahead away we'd write we'd actually young kids spend most of their time in trance as well. That is they act unconsciously they just do. They just be in the moment and do so given that hypnosis is natural, and makes sense that anything that causes us to go inside of, you know connect to something like a word for instance, with a memory is a form of hypnosis. Because the unconscious mind operates with different rules from the conscious mind. So, conscious thought is linear and rational. If I do X, I get why this causes that this action creates this result.

But we poetry, music and stories The purpose is to elicit that dreamy trance going inside state. So if I say pterodactyl Brontosaurus, and Stonehenge and What is that Alyssa for you to me it elicits a sense of ancient past previous age, you know a time before you know helicopters and skyscrapers like that that mystical long ago thing and all you know in my mind it automatically takes in a bit more of a dreamy sort of state you know if I talk about the duck you know slimy tombstones with vampire bats and gruesome gargoyles you mind is likely to go somewhere different than if I mentioned lilacs. I mean, wildflower covered rolling hills, cool, strange. And the reason I'm talking about this, our language, our conversations can elicit powerful states in others for good and for bad. If we want someone to feel open and friendly. It's not a good idea to be confrontational in our words or body language.

If we want someone to be close and defensive, we should avoid giving them that sense of fun or safety. You know, people reflect back what we give to them. If I command you to move yourself right now, your body will react either by complying and moving or by resisting. What it probably won't do is relax, right? So the change of tone like the soothing voice, and all of a sudden that command tone, well, you know, where we're controlling the conversation in the emotion. So when you want to influence somebody to give you the job that you want or to go on a date, get a contract or discount knowing conversational hypnosis gives you some control over the process.

Because when you change the person's state, you actually control the interaction. Now this isn't about being sleazy and creepy and manipulating people. But just being aware of how your language and your tonality in the words you use, can have influence. So the language patterns coming up or What we use to get our client into trance conversationally, and by doing this, they can bypass resistance to making change. So then they can find the answers they already have inside and support powerful change for themselves, because that's why we coach we want our coaches to be able to change. So it's time to buckle up and get to dive deeper into the Milton model.

So you might recognize some of these from previous modules. So we're going to go through the patent give you an example, an explanation and then an example. And you guys actually have the documentation available to be copied out of the binary module as well. So let's have a look at cause and effect. Because I am here you will absorb this easily. So this is when an event creates an outcome.

If and then they're the kinds of words if this happens, then this happens. It's a cause and effect. So the example Because I am here, you will absorb this easily. So I'm going to go through each of these individually, just trust that you're learning. And then we'll tie it all in together at the end. The next one is comparative deletions.

It's the simplest way to learn. So this is when a generalized comparison is made, but it doesn't give you a specific subject. So you don't know what or who it relates to. It's purposely vague, because then the client control their own conclusion. And then that way, there can be no conflict or no guessing of what might work for the client. So what's the simplest way to learn?

It's the simplest way to learn. Complex equivalence, enjoying new awareness means you are ready to make changes. So the two different things are actually given the same Meaning. So it's like your plate is clean, you must be full. This means that there's no difference the equal. And because you have that new awareness, you're ready to make changes, the two things are the same.

Now, the conversational postulate, can you imagine your goals? So it's a yes or no question that prompts action, but it doesn't command. So it's like, could you pass me the soul? It's like, it's just expected that you can or you will. It's not like, Can you imagine your goals? There's no authority or push to it.

And imagine you have that soothing voice saying, Can you imagine your goals now? Yeah. Interesting. Now we have current experience pacing as you sit in your chair, with your eyes closed thinking those thoughts and breathing deeply. So this is describing an undeniable internal or external experience. It's actually verifiable.

So they are there they are doing it. They are thinking they are breathing. It is there it is happening in front of you, is very reassuring for the client when you're doing hypnotic language or trance inductions Yes, it's like Yes, I am. This is where I am right now. Present the moment. And we have double binds.

I don't know if you're becoming even more relaxed now or as you continue to breathe deeper. So it's an either or statement where one option that will occur no matter what. So it's going to happen. It gives that illusion of choice that it's like I don't know if you're becoming even more lacks now or as you continue to play Either way, we're going to get that outcome of being relaxed, double binds. Awesome. So extended quotes.

So we have a payoff, which reminds me of the movie I saw where a train conductor was told by a dispatcher that the supervisor said, You are the only one that can drive this train to its destination. So what an extended quote does it overloads the conscious mind with a series of phrases that disassociate the original speaker from them. So that allows the message to be received easier. So if I said to you, you're the only one that can drive this train to its destination, and it's me telling you, it's very conscious, there could be resistance. But if I'm doing this quote, which reminds me of a movie I saw or train conductor was told by dispatcher that the supervisor said, there's like, No, you can see the train, see the dispatcher talking to the server. And there's no resistance but the message hits your unconscious mind.

This is why we like overloaded the extended quote with a message attached at the end. Lack of referential index, people know how easy it is to start making changes. So it's a sentence where the object is left out or it's generalized. One knows how to people say, it's like, oh, who's the one one knows? How does that mean knowing telling you or is that me listening to somebody telling me Am I the one. So that vagueness allows the unconscious mind to draw in?

What it needs to to be able to embrace the lessons that have been taught. What's performative, it's best to let your mind wander. So with the deletion of the value judgment before So, it's best to let your mind wander. There's no judgment attached to it. There's no there's no command. There's no one person saying that.

I'm telling you it's best. Especially you might wonder. It's very general, like Yeah, actually these so it removes the resistance. Mind Ray, and I can tell you already so this is where you're assuming knowledge of someone's feelings or thoughts. Now you don't, you don't want to use that a lot in the conscious way but unconsciously somebody in trance and I can tell you already, it's like, Yeah, I am. modal operators.

To understand you must create a plan. So there's the implied necessity, in this one which is must should have due to under Standing must create a plan. So it's quite directive in there. But you can also have implied possibility to understand you may create a plan. So the possibility is a little bit more open and gentle to ideas, but the implied necessity when you're working with somebody in their in trance, and they're looking for an outcome that's going to drive the result out of deep unconscious level nominalizations I always call them No, no nominalization because we're hungry, but we're not really and open the communication between your conscious and subconscious mind. So it's processing word stuck in times of changing those words to nouns.

Then we have phonological ambiguity, where I can see the waves of ideas flowing in, so it's creating that confusion with the use of homonyms. So, like you can see here c, s, e, Vision, but it's also see the waves like the ocean has waves in the sea. So it's just words like here ha are like you're hearing with your ears or here, h e r e, because you're here now the sound of my voice, what what? It's creating that little bit of ambiguity in there. And it's a little bit of a jolt to the unconscious mind and set a little bit of confusion where it's just like, the brain just sort of gives up and goes, yep, okay. Waves of ideas.

I can see it I'm here hearing here. Yep, dumb. The brain just assumes that whatever its hearing is right? Now presuppositions it's the linguistic equivalent of assumptions. So which will allow you to be even more aware of the possibilities. So we're just going to assume that that's right.

Go back to ambiguity and it was still going. There's few more you example of how detailed you can dream and see clearly when you're in a deep trance. So it's undeterminable context creating confusion about which option actually applies of how detailed you can dream and see clearly when you're in a deep trance selectional restriction violation your pen calls for you to write down your goals. So this is when a sentence suggests something that is not possible so it gives like an inanimate object life You can even call to your chair doesn't actually beckon for you to sink deeper into it now feeling even more relaxed. The chair is just a chair and the floor commands you to brace your feet down and take a stand and our muscles not speaking to me. You get what I mean.

Syntactic ambiguity speaking to you is one who knows staples. So it's where there's several meanings to the content of the phrase. So speaking to you is one who knows it goes, who knows they go. Do you know muggles? I'm joining my goals has one who knows goals? Whoo.

Okay, I'll just it just slides in into the unconscious mind. And now we're going to continue with 10 questions. And you do, don't you? So it's a command question at the end of the statement that reinforces or confirms what it is that you're asking the person. Notice how the don't you doesn't have a question mark, so it doesn't have the upward inflection of your voice by turning, so that's a question. The command, don't you?

It's like just like that sneak attack where it just drops it in. Like Yes, don't you? Yeah, I don't. I do. I'm cool. Whatever the question is, you pop those on the end to give Little bit of extra room and locking it in now unspecified verbs and you will and you are the verb is missing a description so the who what when we are how is unspecified?

It's just you are utilization I love utilization so imagine that this is sound to the phone ringing right? If you were talking to somebody and something happens in the background like a phone, the opportunities are calling for you to take action now. You would include that in Milton Erickson is the best person for utilization amazing. So what we have the next part is we're going to look at embedded commands and we will go through those things bear with me for a moment Embedded commands, what they do is deliver suggestions and statements to the unconscious at a deep level. So by using embedded commands your voice with your voice, you emphasize the power of your words of the on the unconscious mind. So using specific volume, tone and tempo to add meaning.

So these techniques actually often used in marketing. So listen to ads, they give instructions and how they're delivered. Listen for the tonality. Now, here's how you create successfully embedded commands. So there's two steps to prepare. And there's one step to take the action.

So for example, stop what you're doing. Prepare, take a breath, prepare, and come down. That's the action. I'll give you another one. To prepare as an action. Stand up, walk to the And turn off the light.

And one more, write this number down, pick up the phone and dial now. Mine has a three time convinced. We operate in threes to actions and outcome. That's the trick to creating an embedded command. And these are really powerful for your hypnotic induction processes. So to create working commands follow these steps you need to know the outcome of why of what you want to create and why you're putting it in your process or why you're using people create the phrase, use a congress time to deliver the message you sensory acuity to calibrate results.

So you deliver increasingly powerful commands using appropriate vocal quality. So I'll use the previous examples. Stop what you're doing. Take a breath and calm down. Probably sound a little bit at the end. Another one, write this number down, pick up the phone and dial now.

So you can see how your tonality, and those embedded commands can be really powerful when you're directing somebody to take action. So you need to remember when you're using hypnotic language patterns, and when you're doing your inductions to use the right tonality. Now, to get started using these patterns in your sessions, so when you're coaching, pick three to begin with. It's easy, might pick three and use them consciously with your clients. And when these three are a natural part of your coaching, pick three more and slowly Build up on these, you can download the document and print it out and highlight the three that you want to use get used to using embedded commands and you coaching. Get used to using them in your process work.

When you do the trance modules when you're looking at guided visualizations, track them and get comfortable with them. Now, I would suggest you start with cause and effect, tag questions and extended quotes. Now before we finish this module, hopefully you've printed off the hypnotic language patterns document. If not, that's fine too. You can stop the module here. And you can go and print it off or you can open up the document while you're listening to this.

But I'm going to go back and I'm going to show you by reading through each of the examples that you were given just how simple it is. To use these patterns to create a process. So what I'll get you to do, you can either read along, actually read along, that will be best. Because I am here, you will absorb this easily, because it's the simplest way to learn comparative deletions. And your new awareness means you are ready to make changes, complex equations. Can you imagine your goals, conversational postulate.

As you sit in your chair with your eyes closed thinking those thoughts and breathing deeply current experience pacing. I don't know if you becoming even more relaxed now. Or as you continue to breathe deeper, double bond. Which reminds me of a movie I saw where a train conductor was told by dispatcher that the supervisor said you're the only one that can drive is trying to its destination. Extended quotes. People know how easy it is to start making changes lack of referential index.

It's best to let your mind wander most performative and I can tell you already migrates. To understand you must create a plan modal operators and open the communication between your conscious and subconscious nominalizations. Or I can see the waves of ideas flowing in ontological ambiguity, which will allow you to be even more aware of the possibilities, presuppositions of how detailed you can dream see clearly when you're in deep trance scope ambiguity, your pain calls for you to write all your goals down selectional restriction violation speaking to as one who knows their goals syntactic ambiguity As you do, don't you tag questions, you always think about the choices you make universal quantifiers and you will and you are unspecified verbs. Bringing opportunities are calling for you to take action now, utilization. So it's that simple to tie these patterns together. So next I encourage you to move to the experience module and see how as a client these language patterns can guide and create change.

All the language patterns are available supplied on a PDF for this module, go and do the transduction Have a listen, be the client, close your eyes experience and then work through the build and implement modules. So then you can actually start crafting and building your own processes. So until next time, The next module or in a group call in the group. Remember, post your questions, keep me up to date, when you build your inductions and things. I'm more than happy to jump on a call and have a listen and give you feedback. But remember, you have the power to use these tools and you have the power to change life.

So look forward to seeing you in the next lecture.
