Hey you, you’re looking pretty styling.

It must be all those mirror exercises and affirmations. Keep those exercises up daily and let’s see what reflects back at you in the mirror. (Something dazzling I’m sure).

In other news, we’re moving on to the Charismatic Conversationalist. You started out in the last chapter learning about how to build your self-esteem so that you feel more confident and ready to take on new challenges. You learned six exercises, some to do every day, and some to simply do every couple of months. Most of all, remember your daily mirror exercises and review your daily victories. Now let’s carry that confidence and readiness to pursue new challenges and focus on becoming the Charismatic Conversationalist.

Most people hate the thought of small talk (‘Small talk’ means the conversations you have with people you don't know very well). But here’s the thing, and friendship you’ve ever made has started with small talk on some level so really small talk creates the doorway to some of our most meaningful and important relationships in life. So instead of seeing it as a chore, rather see it as a potentially entertaining and exciting opportunity to meet the next most important person in your life.

Why is this chapter important to you?

  • You will be able to walk into any environment and make friends
  • Start a conversation with anyone
  • Keep a conversation going for as long as you need it to
  • Never run out of anything interesting to say
  • Impress people with your warmth and easy-to-get-along-with nature
  • Make friends and new connections much quicker
  • Brighten the room with your energy
  • Entertain people
  • When people have left a conversation with you, they’ll be left thinking, ‘I so enjoyed that conversation with You’.

Look out for how to start a conversation with anyone, what to talk about and what ‘No-Go’ topics to avoid.

After this lesson, you will feel confident to go to any event and start a conversation with anyone. Not only that but you’ll leave the event sparkling, knowing that you absolutely owned the event and that people were super-duper impressed with how charming and wonderful you were.

Okay chatty Kathy, let’s get you started.
