Hello, and welcome back to the module on how to create a post for Instagram. We're going to start with created design. And we're going to go into social media posts and click on Instagram posts where they have it already size up perfectly for you. So we'll click on that and it'll open the new window. And again, we have the layouts here and we have the workspace over on the right. So one thing you want to think about with Instagram is the phrase a picture's worth 1000 words is very true with that social media outlet.

So you really want to think of something to post that's going to be eye catching, as well as simple because people go through those pictures very quickly. I know a lot of people just usually take a picture and post it on the website. But if you really want to advertise for your art or your blog or for your web store, you want to do something that has A little bit more of an eye catching design to it. So for today, we're going to pick this one. Now I know this one is a paid design, but it is a paid design if you use these pictures in the background. So what we're going to do is delete them and use our own.

So we will just click on it and then click on the garbage can over here and delete them just so that there's no confusion because sometimes even when you overlay them, if you put a picture over them, then they charge you because the design is still in there. It's just underneath. So then what we're going to do is go to elements and we are going to pick grids. And we're going to create our own frame design so that we can put our pictures in now as you can see when they insert it it inserts on top of the design. So what we want to do is we want to put the In the background so that we can see the text on top of it. So we're going to go up to arrange, and click back.

Just keep clicking back until you see the text appear and there's the placeholder. And now we're done. So now we have four places to put pictures, and we have the text over it. So what we're going to do is go to uploads, and at this point, you would just either use pictures that you have already uploaded, or you're going to upload new pictures you want to include, so I already have some pictures uploaded that I'm just going to use. So I'm going to just click on it, and it goes right into the workspace and then I just drag it right up to the design, or you can click on it and pull it over. And it'll just fit it right into there.

So whichever way works for you. We're going to do this one here. And then This one over here. So I'm going to delete the text boxes because I'm not a big fan of how it's set up. But it just kind of gave us a little idea to start with. And then I'm just gonna make this a little smaller.

So you just click on it and size it how you like. I want to be sure that you can see this clearly see much behind this box. So I'm going to highlight it and go up here to transparency and bring it down to 7576. Okay, so now you can kind of see behind the box, and I'm also going to double click on this one, and just arrange it a little further down so you can see it and then press the check and that'll say Okay, so what we're going to do from here is insert the text that we want to tell people in our Instagram posts right So I'm going to say it's a free giveaway of these prints on the blog. So I'm just going to go to text, and then click Add heading. And it's already highlighted.

So I'm going to say when free when these free prints on the blog today, so clearly the text box doesn't fit. So we're going to just click on either side and bring it in. And then we're going to make it a little bigger, say 64. There's a lot of space in between each line. So I'm gonna go up here and reduce the line height, text spacing, line height, that's about good. We're going to use the line see the grid that shows up to show us we're in the middle And then I'm going to change the text in here to tell them where to go because obviously, I don't want them to go there.

We highlight it and then I'll just put Stephanie Martell. I'm going to change that to my Sanchez that I normally use. I'm going to make it a little bigger, so it's easier to read. Now blue is not really my favorite color to use either. So what I'm going to do is highlight the box. There we go.

And then I'm going to add my branding color which I use a lot, which is ff 0066. Just make the box a little smaller. And just make sure that's in the middle. And there we are. So this is a great Instagram post. Now if you wanted to show a little more of the background of what the principal Like you can actually just make it a little bit more of a landscape statement than vertical.

And all I'm doing is changing the size of the text box, changing the size of the background box. And we could even pull this background box in a little. So then what you can do is pull this down a little if you want to move the branding a little closer to the bottom so that people can recognize where to go for the free blog prints and then they can see a little bit more of the pictures. So then what you would do to complete the design is just go up here. We want to save it as free prints. Done and I like to save it one last time.

See all changes saved and We just download, it's going to save as PNG or you could save it as a JPEG. And then you just click download and it will show up down here in the window and you can save it on your computer. And then you can post it to Instagram. And you can use it on other social media applications as well. But this one is specifically sized for Instagram. So that is all for the Instagram graphic and I'll see you in the next module.
