Welcome back to Tom engineering. It's great to be with you again and wherever you might be in this wonderful world. As always, I hope everything is absolutely superb in your neck of the woods. Our first module is a gentle introduction to space and time and how they fundamentally linked together in your business and life. So let's get into it. So we had to call subjects that we're going to do a short introduction on.

Okay. So, everything happens in space and time, Ryan. Well, I'd really like you to stop and think about that for a moment. It includes everything you do, every action you take. Feeling you feel every moment that makes up your life? Absolutely everything.

Now, whenever I teach this subject live, I always start by asking. So bearing in mind that everything happens in space and time, then is what you allow into your space and what you choose to do with your time. Important. And although that may seem like a rhetorical question, please don't answer just yet. Just sit with it for a moment and let it percolate. Now, I have no doubt that you have come across the subject of time management before you may even be thinking bla bla bla, I've heard it all before.

However, fundamentally, the space in time that I'm referring to initially in time engineering is not about time management. What we have to cover here first is far more significant than that. What I am referring to is how you Assess view and ultimately value your space and time, because this will have a bigger impact on your ability to produce and prosper than almost any other single determining factor. Because how you view and value your space and time will drive your decisions and ultimately your actions. And these actions in turn determine, firstly, what is allowed into your space to influence you, your team business life and success and secondly, how your time is invested or spent. And there's a critical difference between these two that we will cover in a later module.

And thirdly, ultimately the results you produce. The problem is that rarely if ever to people consciously consider this space and time from a cause and effect perspective. More often they simply exist within it in a subconscious fog fog like manner, oblivious to its detrimental impact, whether or not you've heard of a space being linked with time in this context, I can assure you that they are like Siamese twins to inseparable and synergistic parts of the same being, you cannot deal with one and ignore the other as he is is is as critical as the other to becoming productive, profitable and sustaining prosperity. In my experience, the concept of space in in particular is not understood in depth, and the reason why the majority of business owners miss out on learning how to manage what is allowed to impact on this space and ultimately their productivity comes down to two main factors.

First, spaces the intangible component of the twins, it is almost Impossible to measure, unlike its tangible sibling time, and second, as it is basically invisible, the destructive impact of space operates secretly and silently. Now, if this idea of managing your space is new to you, you might be thinking, pull your crackers. But please stay with me on this, it will all become crystal clear very, very soon. Imagine for a moment Think of it this way. Imagine for a moment how cancer grows in a body. It is born in secrecy, its existence is hidden, right?

A person with cancer can be completely unaware of it and the destructive impact it is having on their body as it grows. Until one day their body is no longer able to function. And by the time they realize how unwell they are, often, tragically, it is too late. This is exactly what happens to the vast majority of business owners who are not aware of the critical importance of this space. See, by failing to deliberately manage your space, you allow silent cancers to begin growing in your environment, which progressively erode your ability to function. These cancers diminished productivity at such a slow pace that they more than often than not go unnoticed, and often become an accepted part of the environment.

Until one day you realize it's difficult to get anything done at all. And you can't understand why. However, the greatest difference between cancer and your space is that with your space, you have the ultimate choice. And as the saying goes, prevention is better than the cure. Allow me to share a really simple example of this in practice. I worked with Michael A number of years ago he owns a metal fabrication business and make stuff at a metal metal fabrication.

Markos business wasn't huge, I think from memory head 10 or so employees, maybe 12 on his team. Anyway, To cut a long story short, I asked him what he felt was his biggest, biggest problem. And this is what he said to me, Paul, it just seems to take so long to get anything done. When the boys leave every day, I'm here for an extra two or three hours every single day finishing my work. Now, when I sat with him for our first appointment, our first meeting the root cause of his issue, the cancer became glaringly obvious within about 45 minutes, actually less than that. But anyway, in those 45 minutes, we were interrupted approximately five times for someone to ask him a question.

And of those first 45 minutes, I think I must have had Michael's focused attention for no more than about 10 minutes. And to be honest, that's being generous. So when the sixth person walked in the door just before, just before they were about to speak to Mike mode to Michael politely asked. I don't mean to be rude. However, just before you ask Michael, what you're about to ask him, would you mind if I asked you a question? To which the gentleman replied, No problem at all.

So I asked if Mark wasn't available to answer what you're about to ask him, what would you do? Now? He looked at me with a bit of a genuinely a bit of a puzzle, puzzled look on his face. And then he said, but Michaels always available. So I said, Okay, that's cool. No problem.

But what if he wasn't? Is there anyone else here on the team that who could possibly answer your question for you? This guy was seriously confused for a moment, but then said, Yeah, probably. So I said, well go and ask that person and see how you get on. He then looked at Michael for approval, and Michael said, off you go may go and ask whoever it was that he was going to go and ask. And off he went, never to be seen again that day, at least.

Micah looked at me and just started to smile, a couple of light bulbs going off. This happened three more times over the next 30 minutes or so. And until we're basically until the word spread that there was some sob in Michaels office telling everyone to find someone else to answer their questions. And then mark on I had almost two hours of focused productive time together. Now, what Michael learned that day was that the issue was not that he didn't have enough time to get his work done. The issue was that he was allowing his space to be invaded, and as a result, his time to be consumed.

With the greatest effort and emphasis I should say on the words he allowed he was allowing By not respecting his own space, he'd allowed cancers to grow in his space to grow in his environment. And they were making him and his business very, very sick. This awareness allowed Michael to implement a number of structures that resulted in him quadrupling his output within a month, literally within a month quadrupling it. And within a week, he'd stopped doing the extra three hours he was doing every single day. He actually said to me on our next meeting, that he found it quite weird for the first couple of weeks, going home on time, because he had, he'd become so accustomed to working the extra hours he'd become accustomed to, to not just living with the cancer, but actually feeding it and he felt a little bit guilty at leaving on time.

When you understand the dramatic impact, the combination of intangible space and tangible time has on your ability to function at speed. process with clarity and materialize wealth, then you can transform your environment and your business will be able to accelerate and fully support you in achieving your objectives. Now, please take a minute because that content was a little bit heavy. What we just covered is so important that I suggest you go back and listen to it again. It's only a few minutes to make sure you fully grasp what we discussed and that you didn't miss anything, any little bits of gold. Please relax if any of it is unclear if it is, it's probably just because I'm explaining something new to you.

As we progress through the modules. There will be more examples to help clarify and clear it all up for you. Remember, once upon a time, tying your shoelaces was a difficult task, a task you could now do with your eyes closed soon, this will be exactly the same. In the next two modules. I will separate and explain The critical components of space and time individually in detail. This perspective will allow you to convert them from hidden barriers impeding your success into foundations that will support and catapulted your time and space are the foundations from which all else develops.

And your choices around these will determine whether you grow weeds or a forest. It will all be down here once we get through these first few modules. So please remember, smile and enjoy the journey. And until I see you again in the next module, please basically think clearly and have an absolutely incredible day.
