Hey, welcome back. How are you doing? How did you get on in week two? It was a big old week that was and I imagine that you have learned some really interesting things about you over that period of time. So, this week is all about you and your money, story, you and money and how it has been in your life so far. Now, I'm a big person about living in the present and also, you know, looking at where we want to go in the future, but there are also some really important things that we can learn from our past.

Like Steve Jobs said, in his very great Stanford address, he said, you know, we can't connect the dots looking forwards. We can only connect the dots looking backwards, and we have to somehow trust that the dots are going to connect. And that is very much what this week is all about. It's very much about understanding what our money beliefs are where they have come from. And, you know, again, how they have molded our story. So we've looked at those money beliefs in the last module, we're not going to look at them again in this module, in the respect of we're going to see how they have impacted on what your money story has been.

So for this particular week, you need to really put some time aside in the diary to actually sit down and have some space to think about this. And you know, this is a critical part of your journey. Because when you understand where it has come from, you can really start to see the power that has been behind it, and again, how you can then truly start to commit to changing that. So you've already made some big moves by understanding what your belief systems were and starting to change the way that you think and feel from last week's exercise. What we're going to do now is we're going to look at what's happened and again, how we use that as a springboard to change things going forward. So The many beliefs that you have, as you've already learned have come from your formative years.

They came from the role models around us. And they were created by the belief systems for people that bought a subset that could be parents. It could be guardians, his grandparents, his aunt, his uncle's, its friends, it's all those people around us, the sayings that they used the things that they did around money, you know, we don't have the money to buy that, or, you know, we don't have enough money for this, oh, man, it doesn't matter. It's not important. You know, there's all sorts of throwaway sayings that were told to you over the years that have helped you get to the place where you are today and have created that blueprint that you're working from. If you think about your mind, like a computer, when you're born, it's got basic functions on it.

So when you get a new computer, it's got basic functions, you know, it switches on, it's got some kind of internet browser, you've probably got some programs like Word or PowerPoint or you know, something like that that's built into it already. So the seat pre programmed. When you're born as a human, you're pre programmed to, you know, breathe in and out your hearts programmed to breathe. And you know, you're programmed to eat in your program to crap and you know, all those wonderful things. But the programming such as you know, how we talk, how we walk, how we learned, all of that is starting to create starting to be created as we grow. So your money story is exactly the same that was created for you by the people around you.

So let's start off by again, quieting the mind allowing yourself a little bit of quiet space. And then I want you to ask yourself the following question. What was life like for me when I was growing up around money? Now, the whole idea of this exercise is that you are starting you're going to start to go back to your earliest memory and start to think about the following things Who were your role models? Did mom and dad work? Did somebody say How you?

And did they work excessively? So you never saw them? What were your relationships with your siblings around money? Did you dislike an older sister? Because she could save money and you couldn't? Or why is it that, you know, they always seem to have more money than you?

Or was it that they disliked you? Because you had more money than them? What were the relationships with your extended family around money? And you know, think about things like, you know, where did they live? What were the cars that they drove? What jobs did they do?

How did you feel about money when you were growing up? Did you get what you asked for? Were you afraid of talking about money? was money that to be subject was money scarce? Or was the lots of it? What How were the rich people viewed where you were rich person how poor people viewed where you were poor person?

Did you consider that you were rich, poorer in the middle of Did you not even think about that? Was money important? And if so, what were the reasons that you would give When did you get pocket money Did you have money that you had to earn for doing various different jobs? Where you just give him whatever you wanted? Were you encouraged to earn money? Were you encouraged to do what you wanted in life?

Or were you just told that you had to get a job? Were you encouraged towards a particular job because it was perceived that it was going to give you financial security. So maybe your teacher or a banker or working in you know, the the social sector, where you encourage to do what your family did or what your parents did? Did you ever steal any money, borrow money, where you trusted with money? When she relationship with money? Now, when you think about all of these things?

What are your habits? Did you hoard it? Spend it? Did you save it? Did you hide it? Did you see that you or feel that you never had enough?

Did you see it as your friend or enemy or did you not even think about it in that way? What I want you to do is I want you to now start writing down what has come up for you and you've asked yourself these questions. They are all in your workbook. So you can go through them and start to construct your money story. Once you've written everything down, I want you to just take a few moments, go away, do something else, and then come back and reread this again, maybe the gang grab yourself by the water or mace, I've got a tea or go and have a boogie just to break it out for a few minutes. But then I want you to come back and I want you to review what you have written down.

And then I want you to write down in the next section. What is it that you've learned about you so far? Because when you start to now click into this, again, the quote I said at the beginning where she can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So now what we're doing is we're looking at those backward dots. And we're seeing how do they actually connect together? Let me tell you a little story.

There's an amazing member of the members club and she you know, he's a very Cry for financial woman in that she worked in the accountancy field. And she's had a really, really interesting money story. She's lived both a massively abundant life, and also a life of severe lack and amazing trauma around money. And the reason I use the word amazing is, you know, she's amazing for coming through what she did. But when we started to delve into this with her, what we actually discovered was that she got very, two very different role models around money. So her parents separated when she was much younger.

And her dad was very affluent, very wealthy, spent money like water, as the saying goes, you know, pretty much gave her whatever she wanted. And her mom was the complete polar opposite, very frugal, didn't ever like to spend money. And so what she actually realized in us doing this exercise was that she'd actually lived both of her parents money stories, and what that enabled her to do was see that really, really clearly and then start working on what she wanted her money story to be. So, you know, we did a lot of that in the previous week, we started to create what you wanted your money to be. And hopefully the why that you did initially was very much around what you want your money story to be. So I want you to write down, what is the most important thing that you have learned about you so far?

And what is the most important thing that you're then going to commit to doing differently that you've learned about you? You know, again, this comes back to the thoughts, the sayings, you know, all of this is very interlinked what we're doing here, but it's really, really important for you to kind of really delve into this and really get into the feeling of it, or I keep going on about feelings, and I'm going to keep going on about feelings and energy, because actually, that is how you're really, really going to change this. So spend some time now on looking at what this actually is. And what I then want you to do is after you've written down, you know what the most important thing is you've learned about you. And what you're going to do differently is make some notes about what you want your money story to They, because what you want your money story to be is absolutely the key to moving this forward.

Because we've discovered what it was. Now what we need to do is say, Okay, what is it going to be going forward. So spend a little bit of time in that place of endless possibility and start writing down the money story that you are going to from this moment in, start creating in your life. You have absolutely got this and I am so excited to hear about what's come up for you. So make sure that you share in the group, make sure that you really get on with this and go deep into what your money story is. And let's share and empower each other.

I'll catch you in the next video.
