This is a final lecture of the section this is an additional feature of our course Minitab is not part of a excuse me okay. There it is version of this software is Minitab 16. However, in this lecture, we are covering the features of Minitab 15 such as introduction to Minitab 15 method of saving the file as a project or as a worksheet, major menus, those are useful for greenbelt professionals the basics of Minitab 15 as well as 16 remains same, it will be great if you download any of these trial versions from internet before we start the lecture Minitab is a statistics package originally developed as tool for teaching statistics. It works in unification with six sigma c m m I and many statistic based process improvement projects. Six Sigma practitioners extensively use this software for problem solving. It helps green belts to save time in tedious calculation as well as that efficient analysis of data.
After installation, click the Minitab icon from dekstop. When Minitab is started, for the first time, a user information screen opens, we need to fill all asterik mt columns. Click OK to proceed. After clicking OK, the screen looks like this. If anybody wishes to purchase the code, they can do it through internet. Else, click on I would like to try Minitab three days remaining and click Next.
Since this was a trial version, Every time we open Minitab this screen appears. Once we click OK Minitab screen looks similar as what you see there are two main windows that you can see there. They are. session window worksheet window. Let us learn what are those windows worksheet window is the one where we enter, view and edit the data columns. It allows to enter numeric, text and date time.
Worksheet layout is similar to excel spreadsheet data can be copied pasted from and to excel spreadsheet. columns are named as c one, C two, C three, etc. By default, it could also be renamed as per our convenience session window is the window, where Minitab shows the outputs of the results of statistical analysis. In some cases, a graphical window also opens along with session window results. As a greenbelt professional, we will be studying the session window and graphical window results as part of an app versus saving a file a file could be saved in two ways. So as project and save as worksheet, a project is one which contains many worksheets, graphs and session outputs.
Whereas, worksheet contains nothing but the particular worksheet itself. extension for worksheet is dot m t w and extension project is dot mpj we should save Minitab files as project as it will help us to easily handle so many problems Simultaneously when we save file as a project, all the worksheets, graphs and sessions of a particular project are stored at one location. For saving a file, click File. Under the menu, we could see Save Project As well as Save Current work worksheet menus. When we are working with project, click Save Project. Similarly, when we are not working with a project, but what a simple worksheet, click on Save Current worksheet we need to have menus The menu for Minitab that we are going to use extensively our calculator menu, statistics menu and the graph menu under the calculator menu for the menu list that we are going to use our column statistics, row statistics, probability distribution, no down the word probability distributions.
As we are going to hear this word repeatedly in most of the coming lectures. The statistics menu is of great importance to us for finding basic statistics regression Nova, control charts etc. Further with quality tools submenu, we will be using Pareto charts, capability studies and gauge studies etc. Under the graphs menu, we are going to practice scatterplot, histogram, box plot, etc. All those menus we have discussed right now are going to be shown during the later lectures. You can also download the Sample Files for your practice purpose in that lectures.
That's all for this lecture. With this we end the session Have we okay? The Six Sigma define the following subsections of sq. v. Okay. We're covered in this session a process management for projects be project management basics c management and planning tools D business results or projects and E team dynamics and performance. The final exam carries only five questions from this section.
There is a model quiz related to this session. After attending the quiz, proceed to the next lecture. Thank you
