Completing unrelated tasks in bed like playing on your phone, reading, working, eating, or watching TV sends the wrong message to the subconscious about what your bed is for.  Over time your subconscious mind learns from your habits and begins to acclimate to them to the point of supporting or promoting them. This is one reason why it is so hard to change habits.
So the next time you want to go to sleep in your bed your subconscious mind says, 'No, I'm not tired! We need to be social, play games, read, work, eat or watch TV instead'.  Then your brain is running like crazy and you cannot go to sleep.
So make it a point to use your bed for sleep and intimacy only.  It will begin to sink into your subconscious mind and it will recognize that is what the bed is for.
Consider what you can do with furniture in your bedroom to avoid sitting on the bed and doing something. Think about other places you can read or work comfortably before going to your bed.
