A review of some of the larger, less conventional, religions of the last 150 years:
What will you learn in this course?
Some of these groups will try to keep members attending with a cultish form of oppression, so it is also important to understand the psychological dilemmas presented when trying to convince a member to leave.
Hopefully, this will help every one of us to review our own set of religious beliefs and ask ourselves some hard questions. If we are not in the truth, and if the truth is out there, what should we do to find it? How would we know if we had found it? Would we have the stamina to leave our present situation and pursue truth - the purest approach to God possible - knowing the current stumbling blocks that all face when changing religious beliefs? I've done it myself, and it wasn't easy. I'm grateful I did.
Who should take this course?
An understanding of the Bible, an experience with God, a love for people, and a hunger for truth would be great assets to make this valuable.
