Alright, so now that you know how to choose your country and see what their sort of general drone laws are, I thought I'd just go through a quick example of one of them Australia, just so we can sort of dive into each of the general laws that they have out there and the variation that different countries have decided that you really clear with it because it is probably the most important thing when you're talking about traveling with your drone. The last thing you want to do is spend all that money on a drone and travel, get over to the country knowledge, check what their drone laws are, and have your drone confiscated at the border or, you know, being told you can't fly. It's a very simple thing. It takes 10 1520 minutes to check online. And you can be confident whether or not you should even take your drone with you or whether you should go to that country at all in the first place.

So let's have a look at Australia. As you can see here on the cast on the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, there's a number of different rules and laws that they have. One of the things I actually don't have is that you don't need to register your drone. So a lot of countries will have you register your drone and you know, stick an ID tag on and as I said before, but Australia is not one of them, which is handy. They do have their own special drone website, this drone flyer.com.au and that includes a really good app that you can actually download onto your phone before you go and check dynamically where you are. Can I fly here or can I fly here?

Or what are the rules that Tandy getting into the actual rules themselves you've got you must not fly your drone in a way that creates a hazard to another aircraft person or property. So this is pretty obvious. I should think, you know, don't go flying into buildings or anything like that. I don't know who would because it would ruin your drone. But general rule, you must not fly above 120 He made us at all locations. So this is actually pretty generally unique to Australia, a lot of a lot of other countries do have the maximum flight altitude, but often it varies in different locations, perhaps in a national park, it will be zero, perhaps in an open pocket might be 150.

Or perhaps if you're near ish, a city, it'll be 50 meters or something like that. Usually, it varies based on where you are. Some countries have a hard limit that's just 100 meters everywhere, like Australia with 120 meters. But it's just something that most countries have, they just have it in different varying degrees. You must not fly a drone in an area of public safety or emergency operation. So this is for things like if there's a bush file or there's a search and rescue going on and you fly a drone over it.

Stupid thing, do not do it in Australia is against the law. And I would dare say in pretty much every country it will be against the law and even if it's not, you still shouldn't do it. If there's a fire and you're flying a drone over there, they will basically not allow other manned aircraft to come in. So if they want to, you know, drop some fire retardant or water or whatever it is, they won't be able to do that it could potentially cost houses or people's lives by you flying your drone there. So just even if it is legal in your country or the country or going, don't do it, it's not worth getting those videos. Next up is you must not fly within 30 meters of people unless the other person is essential to controlling or navigating the drone.

And you must only operate one drone at a time. Now I find this particular one kind of hilarious because, you know, you usually need two hands to operate a drone. So I don't know how you're going to be holding two controllers controlling them. I guess you could maybe put one on one of the automatic, you know, slight modes or something like that and then quickly jump over to the other one, but it's illegal. Don't In Australia, I'd probably say don't do it because you'll probably crash one of your drawings anyway. And you know, not a good look.

You must not fly within 5.5 kilometers of a controlled aerodrome. So these are things with actual control towers with the radars on them and all that sort of stuff. Most of the time, this is you know, airports shouldn't be flying anywhere near them again, you get incredibly stupid people flying their drone, near an airport over an airport next to a plane, you know, it's just ridiculous. You are putting people's lives in danger. You're causing huge amounts of you know, people not be able to get on their planes, it's just don't do it. You will quite likely get arrested or fined or both, or lose your drone so not worth it.

You must safely maneuver your drone away from the path of a manned aircraft and land as soon as safely possible if you become aware that a manned aircraft is operating to or from the Non controlled aerodrome or helicopter landing sites. So this is if you're flying and a plane or helicopter comes in, just land just get out of the way don't have to rush it or anything you don't want to crash your drone but safely controlled low your drone and bring it back to you and just wait so that manned aircraft I always have right away if you see a manned aircraft coming your drone, just get out of the line allow them to do their thing. First, you can wait. You must not fly at night or through clouds or fog. So this one is a bit of a different one depending on where we go.

Some countries do allow you to actually fly your drone at night or through clouds or fog Australia, obviously not one of them. That being said, you may have seen footage of people flying at night in Australia. Don't assume that that means you can just go and do it. As I said, a lot of people ignore laws, but there is the other option. that perhaps they have a commercial license or special special permission from castles and they can fly in this particular area at night because they have the right training for you don't know it's against the law in Australia so don't do it. When flying you must be able to see your drone with your own eyes not just on your screen or through goggles.

So this one is what I was talking about before the DLLs or visual line of sight is what most people call it. You must be able to see it with your own eyes you know no point having a telescope sitting next to you and go oh no, I can still see is six kilometers away. But you know, it has to be with your own eyes. No binoculars, you know if someone else is standing next to you and they can view as well that's also good as well. But it must always maintain visual line of sight. And finally, you must not fly over people and you must not fly in designated restricted areas so restricted areas might be like, you know, military grounds or national parks and things like that private property.

And obviously flying over people is pretty self explanatory. You don't want to invade their privacy or possibly, you know, hurt them if your drone falls out. So, that's just an example of all the different laws that Australia has, as you can see, they're pretty, you know, logical they're pretty fair I think they're not saying you can't fly at all they're not saying you know, do whatever you want kind of thing it's actually quite a reasonable hands off approach that as long as you're flying sensibly and not interfering with you know, other aircraft or you know, emergency services or anything critical like that. Do what you want, you know, go fly what you want go fly, not over restricted areas, but in beaches or you know, the sea, all those sorts of things. So, not too bad laws, but that should hopefully give you an idea of what you'll be facing.

You look at these websites like you AV coach or the aviation authorities of certain countries what to expect. One of the trick that's handy to know if you're going to a country and they say that, you know, you're not allowed to fire the people, you're not allowed to fire the buildings or you know, cars or anything blocked out. And admittedly, there's quite a decent amount of countries that have those types of laws and you're thinking, you know, I want to get a fantastic view of the city or you know, this, whatever it might be, but I can't directly fly over the actual city or anything like that. A really good trick is to just go to a local beach or somewhere that is near a park or something like that. Because while you can't directly look down on the city or anything like that, unfortunately, you can fly over you know, clear water or something like that and view the actual city as you can see here where I was flying over the beach and you can see beautiful Melbourne and St Kilda beach and all that sort of stuff.

So Often this actually makes really good shots as well because, you know, you can actually see all the city and everything like that, but it's a good way of quickly getting around some of these malls and still getting great shots, even though you know, certain countries restrictions might try and stop you otherwise. Now, that's an example as I said of Australia who aren't too bad. Talking about other examples of countries that aren't so good you've got Thailand as just a quick one where they actually banned all drones that have cameras so you can fly during there you just can't take videos or photos. agent is also another one to be very wary of the pretty much banned all drone flights whatsoever. As far as I know, they are very, very suspicious of just any drone that's flying and unless you have special permission from the government to fly the drone will end very badly for other countries, whilst they you know, might not be as rich Strictly the site agent they have certain parts of the country that will be just total no go area.

And often these are tourist attractions in Italy there was a French tourists, as you can see here that tried to fly their DJI Phantom three over the Colosseum and was actually you know, find about 130,000 US dollars. So these sorts of things even if you're not, you know, going to prison or something like that these fines sometimes can be quite quite severe. It's not just a year, you know, parking ticket at dollar fine or $100 fine or something like that. It can be multiple thousands of dollars if you're doing something really, really against the law. So, again, this is me trying to really iterate that it is incredibly important. It is the number one thing when you're flying your drone overseas and when you're taking it with you traveling.

Make sure you're really really really aware of the countries Boys because you do have to respect them otherwise it can end very badly for you
