About the Class

While there is a healthy appreciation for Indian food and its simple, fresh, and plant-forward choices, many in the western world are hesitant to try making Indian food at home. Mainly due to the assumption of complex recipes, techniques, and specialized ingredients.

As a chef and native of Indian, my approach is clarity of instruction for those of you who may be new to Indian cooking, but have a general love for trying out diverse foods and cuisines. It’s best to come to my Indian cooking school 'Simply Bhonu' with a beginner’s mindset because this is a place for all levels of cooking experience and lifestyle-dietary choices.

Get ready to embrace the unique nuances of an addictive cuisine that is as old as the earliest civilizations. In recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques, this is 'Indian Cooking for the Global Palate'.

In this Indian basic tutorial-style on-demand class, learn to make garlic naan bread with me on your own time.

  • I will walk you through the entire process of making garlic naan dough from scratch with ingredients you use for any kind of baking.
  • Then we will learn to portion and roll out naan bread in two ways - restaurant-style large naan bread which is perfect for curries and wraps, or mini-naan which goes well with your tikka and starters.
  • Finally, I'll run you through three different ways to cook Naan bread - on the griddle, on the grill, and in the oven - so you can choose the one that works best for you.
  • There is a recipe guide printout accompanying the course. Use it to follow along with the video, pausing and playing as needed,
  • Make sure to apply generous dabs of butter to your fluffy delicious garlic naan creations.
